   #1. This week's number one is an international power forward Maciej Lampe (211-85, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Spain. He could not help Caja Laboral (4-3) in their last game. Despite Lampe's very good performance the fifth-placed Caja Laboral lost 74-85 on the road to the second-ranked Montepaschi Siena in the group F of Euroleague. He was the top scorer with 17 points. Lampe also added 5 rebounds in 24 minutes on the court. It was Caja Laboral's third consecutive loss in a row. Lampe has relatively good stats this year: 12.9ppg, 5.9rpg, 3FGP: 33.3% and FT: 75.9% in the 17 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Polish and Swedish. Lampe is currently a member of the Polish senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to former international guard David Logan (185-82, college: Indianapolis, currently plays in Israel). He led Maccabi T-A to an easy victory against the league outsider Galil Gilboa (5-11) crushing them 91-56 in the Israeli Winner League last Sunday. Logan recorded 11 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Maccabi Electra Tel-Aviv (15-1) is placed first in the Winner League. It was his team's 13th consecutive victory in a row. It's Logan's first season with the team. This year he has relatively solid stats: 10.8ppg, 2.1rpg, 2.1apg, 2FGP: 61.8%(34-55) and FT: 75.0%. Logan is a naturalized American. He played for the Polish national team in 2009. Logan used to play for WTK Anwil Wloclawek in Polish league.

   #3. The Polish player who performed third best last week abroad was an international swingman Thomas Kelati (195-82, agency: Beo Basket, college: Washington St., currently plays in Eurocup). He contributed to an overtime Valencia Basket's victory against the leader VEF Riga (3-2) 103-96 in the Eurocup on Tuesday night. Kelati scored 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 37 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 2 ranked teams in group J. Valencia Basket (3-2) is placed second. His team will play only one more game in the Eurocup Top 16. And that game will be critical. Kelati has reliable stats this year: 11.9ppg, 2.4rpg, 1.4apg, 2FGP: 42.1%, 3FGP: 48.9%(23-47) and FT: 76.9% in the eight games. He is another player who holds two passports: Eritrean and Polish. Ex-BOT Turow Zgorzelec player is also a member of the Polish senior national team.

   #4. Center Marcin Gortat (211-84, currently plays in NBA) was not able to help the Phoenix Suns (17-36) in their game against the Oklahoma City Thunder (39-14) in the NBA. Gortat scored 6 points, had 7 rebounds and made 2 blocks. The Phoenix Suns were crushed 97-69 at home by the Thunder. It was Suns' fourth consecutive loss in a row. Gortat has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 11.3ppg, 8.7rpg, 1.3apg and 1.7bpg. Gortat is also Polish national team player.

An experienced former international center Michal Hlebowicki (204-76, currently plays in Latvia), who plays in the Latvian LBL was not able to secure a victory for Jekabpils (13-9) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Hlebowicki's good performance Jekabpils was defeated 95-88 on their home court in Jekabpils by the lower-ranked Liepaja (#9). He scored 14 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Hlebowicki is currently fifth on the league's list of best blockers. His overall stats this season are: 8.3ppg and 6.0rpg. Hlebowicki used to play for the Polish national team eleven years ago.

Center Pawel Mroz (215-84, currently plays in Czech Republic) led Basketbal Svitavy to a victory over the seventh-ranked BK Lions Hradec (0-1) 92-75 in the Czech Republic NBL on Wednesday night. He was MVP of the game. Mroz recorded 21 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 29 minutes. Turi Svitavy (1-0) is placed second in Group A2. Mroz has very impressive stats this year: 15.2ppg and 6.7rpg in the 23 games. He is a former U18 international player as he played for the Polish team eleven years ago.

International power forward Jakub Wojciechowski (210-90, currently plays in Italy) was the main contributor in Torino's victory against the seventh-ranked Agrigento (12-10) 70-64 in the Italian Nazionale A (third division) in Sunday night's game. Wojciechowski was the best player in that game. He scored 19 points, had 5 rebounds and made 2 blocks. PMS Torino (19-3) is placed first in the Nazionale A. It was his team's seventh consecutive victory in a row. This season Wojciechowski has very high stats. He averages: 16.3ppg and 9.0rpg. Wojciechowski is also Polish national team player.

   #8. Forward Tomasz Gielo (206-93, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA couldn't help the Liberty (5-7) in their last game. Despite his good performance the Liberty was edged 71-68 in Boiling Springs, NC by the Gardner-Webb University. Gielo recorded 11 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in a mere 16 minutes. There are only four games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Gielo's stats this year are: 13.7ppg, 5.0rpg and 1.6apg in the 10 games. He plays currently for the Polish U20 national team.

Former international center Cezary Trybanski (218-79, currently plays in Lithuania) contributed to Dzukija's victory against the closely-ranked Olimpas (22-9) 93-80 in the Lithuanian NKL (second division) last Wednesday. Trybanski recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 10 rebounds. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Dzukija Alytus (23-8) is placed second in the NKL. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. Trybanski is currently first on the list of best rebounders and also on the list of best blockers (first place). He has very reliable stats this season: 12.7ppg, 10.5rpg and 3.3bpg. Trybanski used to play for the Polish national team twelve years ago.

Forward Karol Gruszecki (196-89, currently studies in the States) managed to help University of Texas at Arlington to win against the University of Idaho (5-9) 71-68 in the NCAA in Thursday night's game. Gruszecki scored 5 points. The University of Texas at Arlington has a solid 8-5 conference record this season. It was Texas Arlington's third consecutive victory in a row. Gruszecki's overall stats this season are: 3.2ppg and 3.3apg. He is a former U20 international player as five years ago he still played for the Polish national team.

   #11. International center Przemyslaw Karnowski (216-93, is currently at the American university) contributed to an easy victory against the Saint Mary's College of California 77-60 in the NCAA in Thursday night's game. Karnowski scored only 1 points in 3 minutes on the court. Karnowski averaged so far 14.5ppg, 1.3rpg and 1.2spg in the 16 games. He plays currently for the Polish national team.

   #12. Former U18 international center Szymon Lukasiak (208-87, college: Jacksonville, currently plays in Sweden) couldn't help Nassjo in their game against LF Basket in the Swedish Basketligan. Lukasiak cannot count Tuesday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 3 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. His team was defeated 81-72. Lukasiak's overall stats this season are: 9.7ppg and 5.2rpg. He used to play for the Polish U18 national team back in 2005.

   #1. Vitaliy Kovalenko (203-F-84, currently plays in Ukraine) led Khimik to a 3-point victory against the closely-ranked Hoverla (15-14) 78-75 in the Ukrainian Superleague last Friday. He recorded 11 points, 4 rebounds and 2 blocks in 25 minutes. Khimik-OPZ Yuzny (17-12) is placed fifth in the Superleague. This year Kovalenko's overall stats are: 8.2ppg and 2.8rpg in the 29 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Polish and Ukrainian.

   #2. Gal Mekel (190-PG-88, college: Wichita St., currently plays in Israel), who plays in the Israeli Winner League could not help Maccabi Haifa (9-7) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Mekel's good performance Maccabi Haifa was edged 78-77 at home by the lower-ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (#9). He recorded 10 points, 5 assists and 3 steals. Mekel is currently first on the league's list of best passers. He has very reliable stats this season: 13.3ppg, 2.4rpg, 5.7apg and 1.4spg. Mekel is another player who holds two passports: Polish and Israeli.

   #3. Konrad Wysocki (201-F-82, agency: Pro One Sports, college: Princeton, currently plays in EuroChallenge) contributed to a EWE Baskets' victory against the third-ranked Tsmoki-Minsk (1-3) 72-66 in the EuroChallenge in Wednesday night's game. He recorded 7 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 18 minutes. EWE Baskets Oldenburg (4-0) is placed first in group L. So far his team won all four games in the Top 16. There are only two games left until the end of the EuroChallenge Top 16. So now every game will be critical. This year Wysocki's overall stats are: 6.8ppg and 4.1rpg in the eight games. He has both Polish and German nationalities.

   #4. Dominik Malinowski (198-SG-91, currently plays in Germany), who plays in the German ProB (third division) was not able to help SG Schwelmer Baskets (16-2) in their last game. Despite his very good performance SG Schwelmer Baskets was edged 78-76 on the road by the lower-ranked (#5) Recklinghausen in the Group North. Malinowski was the second best scorer with 15 points. He also added 4 rebounds in 26 minutes. It was SG Schwelmer Baskets' first loss after eleven consecutive victories. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This year Malinowski's overall stats are: 7.2ppg, 3.6rpg and 2.1apg in the 17 games. He also holds two passports: Polish and German. SLUNETA Usti nad Labem (1-0) is placed first in Group A2. Lewandowski averaged so far 13.7ppg, 5.0rpg and 1.6apg. He is a naturalized American. Lewandowski used to play for PGE Turow Zgorzelec in Polish league.

   #6. David Michalczyk (180-PG-89, currently plays in Germany) helped Hanau edge the tenth-ranked Dresden 88-86 in the German ProB (third division) on Saturday night. He scored 11 points and added 3 passes in 28 minutes. This year Michalczyk's overall stats are: 3.2ppg and 3.3apg in the six games. He has Polish and German nationalities.

   #7. Maciej Baginski (195-SF-95, currently plays in Iceland) helped Njardvik win their game against the closely-ranked Stjarnan 87-77 in the Icelandic Dominos League last Monday. Baginski recorded 14 points in 22 minutes. This year Baginski's overall stats are: 8.1ppg and 3.5rpg in the 16 games. He holds both Polish and Icelandic passports. Despite Baginski's Polish nationality, he currently plays for the Icelandic U18 national team and cannot be called to the Polish team.

   #8. Patrick Wischnewski (191-G-87, currently plays in Germany) was not able to secure a victory for Leitershofen in their game against Licher Baeren in the German ProB (third division). Wischnewski scored 6 points. His team was defeated 70-62. Wischnewski averaged so far 14.5ppg, 1.3rpg and 1.2spg. He has German and Polish nationalities. Despite Wischnewski's Polish passport, he previously played for the German U16 national team.
