There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in TBL. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with defeat of the leader, extra overtimes and favorites losing the games.

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked PGE Turow (14-5) in Kolobrzeg on Thursday night. Visitors were edged by tenth ranked Kotwica (6-14) 75-73. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of PGE Turow. PGE Turow was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 17-14 charge of Kotwica, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 19 PGE Turow turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Kotwica made 7 blocks. 25 personal fouls committed by PGE Turow helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Sean Mosley (193-89, college: Maryland) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import center Ty Walker (213-89, college: Wake Forest) contributed with 9 points, 13 rebounds and 6 blocks for the winners. The former international point guard Michal Chylinski (190-86, agency: Interperformances) replied with 15 points for PGE Turow. PGE Turow's coach Miodrag Rajkovic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kotwica maintains tenth position with 6-14 record. PGE Turow at the other side still keeps top place with five games lost. Kotwica are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Rosa Radom (#12) on the road in the next round. PGE Turow will play against AZS Koszalin (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Stelmet ZG (14-6) against eighth ranked Polpharma (9-11) on Saturday night. Visiting Stelmet ZG was defeated by Polpharma in Starogard 102-88. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Stelmet ZG. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Ben McCauley (206-86, college: N.Carolina St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points and 14 rebounds and Jawan Carter who added 21 points and 6 assists (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!) during the contest. U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican point guard Walter Hodge (183-86, college: Florida) responded with 29 points and 4 assists. Stelmet ZG's coach Mihailo Uvalin tested ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Polpharma maintains eighth position with 9-11 record. Stelmet ZG at the other side keeps the second place with six games lost. They share the position with Asseco Prok.. Polpharma will play against higher ranked Asseco Prok. (#3) in Gdynia in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Stelmet ZG will play on the road against the league's leader PGE Turow and will have a slim chance for a victory.
Twelfth-ranked Rosa Radom (4-16) was very close to win a game against seventh ranked AZS Koszalin (10-9) on Saturday. AZS Koszalin managed to secure only five-point victory 87-82. However their fans expected much easier game. The winners were led by Pawel Leonczyk who had that evening a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 27 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists by Nic Wise did not help to save the game for Rosa Radom. Rosa Radom's coach Wojciech Kaminski tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. AZS Koszalin maintains seventh position with 10-9 record. Newly promoted Rosa Radom stay at the bottom place with 16 games lost. AZS Koszalin will meet league's leader PGE Turow in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Rosa Radom will play against Kotwica (#10) in Kolobrzeg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Sopot was also worth to mention about. One of their biggest challengers Anwil (12-8) played at the court of fifth ranked Trefl Sopot (13-7). Trefl Sopot did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 91-74. The best player for the winners was Adam Waczynski who scored 23 points and 4 assists. Anwil's coach Milija Bogicevic let to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Trefl Sopot moved-up to fourth place. Anwil at the other side dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. Trefl Sopot's next round opponent will be Siarka Jezioro (#9) in Tarnobrzeg where they are favorite. Anwil will play at home against Start Gdynia (#11).

Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Stelmet ZG. Loser Siarka Jezioro keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost. Asseco Prok. will face Polpharma (#8) in Starogard in the next round where they are favorite. Siarka Jezioro will play at home against Trefl Sopot.

In the last game of round 20 Energa Czarni smashed Start Gdynia on the road 97-64.


Asseco Prok. - Siarka Jezioro 89-54

The game between third ranked Asseco Prok. (14-6) and 9th ranked Siarka Jezioro (7-13) in Gdynia on Sunday ended with biggest points difference. Asseco Prok. outscored guests from Tarnobrzeg 89-54. The game without a history. Asseco Prok. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Asseco Prok. outrebounded Siarka Jezioro 42-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. Siarka Jezioro was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. International center Adam Hrycaniuk (206-84, college: Cincinnati, agency: Alti Sport) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. International swingman Mateusz Ponitka (196-93) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Asseco Prok. players scored in double figures. The former international center Dawid Przybyszewski (215-81, college: Vanderbilt) replied with 11 points and American forward Nicchaeus Doaks (202-87, college: Chattanooga) added 6 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Siarka Jezioro. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Asseco Prok. have a solid four-game winning streak. The game in Sopot was also worth to mention about. One of their biggest challengers Anwil (12-8) played at the court of fifth ranked Trefl Sopot (13-7). Trefl Sopot did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 91-74. Anwil was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 52-34 second half run of Trefl Sopot. The best player for the winners was international swingman Adam Waczynski (199-89, agency: Limelight Hoops) who scored 23 points and 4 assists. American point guard Frank Turner (178-88, college: Canisius, agency: Court Side) chipped in 16 points and 6 assists. Four Trefl Sopot players scored in double figures. American swingman Marcus Ginyard (196-87, college: N.Carolina, agency: Interperformances) produced 18 points and the former international point guard Krzysztof Szubarga (182-84) added 11 points respectively for the guests. Anwil's coach Milija Bogicevic let to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Trefl Sopot moved-up to fourth place. No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Energa Czarni (11-9) crushed on the road 11th ranked Start Gdynia (5-15) 97-64 on Saturday. The game without a history. Energa Czarni led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Energa Czarni outrebounded Start Gdynia 35-22 including 24 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Energa Czarni made 7 blocks. Start Gdynia was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Naturalized Israeli guard Oded Brandwein (186-88, agency: N.E.T.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 7 assists. Lithuanian Valdas Dabkus (204-84) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Five Energa Czarni players scored in double figures. The former international forward Jaroslaw Mokros (201-90) replied with 11 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Tomasz Wojdyla (201-77) added 12 points in the effort for Start Gdynia. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Energa Czarni maintains sixth position with 11-9 record. Start Gdynia lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh place with 15 games lost. Energa Czarni will face AZS Koszalin (#7) at home in the next round. Twelfth-ranked Rosa Radom (4-16) was very close to win a game against seventh ranked AZS Koszalin (10-9) on Saturday. AZS Koszalin managed to secure only five-point victory 87-82. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 14 points after three quarters before their 17-3 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 5-point victory in overtime. AZS Koszalin dominated on the defensive end, holding Rosa Radom to just 3 points in fourth quarter. AZS Koszalin shot 26 for 40 from the free-throw line, while Rosa Radom only scored ten points from the stripe. The winners were led by the former international forward Pawel Leonczyk (202-86, agency: Promotex) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and international guard Lukasz Wisniewski (186-84, college: Barton County CC, agency: Promotex) supported him with 21 points and 5 rebounds. Polpharma - Stelmet ZG 102-88

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Stelmet ZG (14-6) against eighth ranked Polpharma (9-11) on Saturday night. Visiting Stelmet ZG was defeated by Polpharma in Starogard 102-88. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Stelmet ZG. It looked good early as Stelmet ZG took an 12-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Polpharma took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 14 points. They made 34-of-39 charity shots (87.2 percent) during the game, while Stelmet ZG only scored fourteen points from the stripe. Stelmet ZG was plagued by 34 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Ben McCauley (206-86, college: N.Carolina St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import point guard Jawan Carter (180-87, college: Delaware) who added 21 points and 6 assists (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!) during the contest. U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican point guard Walter Hodge (183-86, college: Florida) responded with 29 points and 4 assists and the former international forward Marcin Sroka (200-81, agency: Promotex) scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Stelmet ZG's coach Mihailo Uvalin tested ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Polpharma maintains eighth position with 9-11 record. Stelmet ZG at the other side keeps the second place with six games lost. They share the position with Asseco Prok.. Polpharma will play against higher ranked Asseco Prok. The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked PGE Turow (14-5) in Kolobrzeg on Thursday night. Visitors were edged by tenth ranked Kotwica (6-14) 75-73. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of PGE Turow. PGE Turow was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 17-14 charge of Kotwica, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 19 PGE Turow turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Kotwica made 7 blocks. 25 personal fouls committed by PGE Turow helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Sean Mosley (193-89, college: Maryland) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import center Ty Walker (213-89, college: Wake Forest) contributed with 9 points, 13 rebounds and 6 blocks for the winners. Four Kotwica players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Michal Chylinski (190-86, agency: Interperformances) replied with 15 points and American guard David Jackson (193-86, college: W.Illinois) added 7 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for PGE Turow. PGE Turow's coach Miodrag Rajkovic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kotwica maintains tenth position with 6-14 record.
