An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Lancut. First ranked Sokol Lancut faced second-ranked Legia W-wa. Host Sokol Lancut (19-4) defeated guests from Warszawa (18-5) 80-73. It ended at the same time the 13-game winning streak of Legia W-wa. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The best player for the winners was the former international Marcin Sroka (201-81, agency: Promotex) who scored 22 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Marek Zywert (192-96) chipped in 13 points and 6 assists. Power forward Marcel Wilczek (204-86, agency: Promotex) produced 14 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Sokol Lancut maintains first place with 19-4 record. Legia W-wa at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. Sokol Lancut are looking forward to face Notec Inowr. (#10) in Inowroclaw in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Legia W-wa will play at home against Pogon Prudnik (#6) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
The game in Tychy was also worth to mention about. 5th ranked Polonia Leszno (14-9) played at the court of seventh ranked GKS Tychy (14-9). GKS Tychy defeated Polonia Leszno 79-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Polonia Leszno. Swingman Hubert Mazur (190-84, agency: Promotex) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Tomasz Deja contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Guard Nikodem Sirijatowicz (188-94) answered with 17 points and 4 assists for Polonia Leszno. GKS Tychy moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Pogon Prudnik and Polonia Leszno. GKS Tychy will play against bottom-ranked Nysa Klodzko (#16) in Kloszko in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Polonia Leszno will play at home against Spojnia (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Adrian Mroczek-Truskowski responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Astoria Bydg. maintains fifteenth place with 6-17 record. Loser Pogon Prudnik keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. They share it with GKS Tychy and Polonia Leszno. Astoria Bydg. will meet at home higher ranked Rosa II Radom (#13) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pogon Prudnik will play against the league's second-placed Legia W-wa (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
An interesting game took place in Radom, where higher ranked Biofarm PZN (11-12) lost to thirteenth ranked Rosa II Radom (8-15) in a road game 58-64. It was an exceptional evening for Filip Zegzula who led the winners and scored 21 points. Biofarm PZN's coach Przemyslaw Szurek rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Rosa II Radom have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain thirteenth place with 8-15 record. Biofarm PZN at the other side keeps the eighth position with 12 games lost. Rosa II Radom's next round opponent will be Astoria Bydg. (#15) in Bydgoszcz.

Spojnia will face Polonia Leszno (#7) on the road in the next round. SKK Siedlce will play against Kotwica and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Other games of round 23 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
bottom-ranked Nysa Klodzko was defeated by GTK Gliwice in a road game 67-60. Kotwica beat Notec Inowr. at home 69-57. Znicz Basket destroyed AZS AGH Krk. on the opponent's court 84-63.

Pogon Prudnik - Astoria Bydg. 80-86

We should mention about the upset which took place in Prudnik, where higher ranked Pogon Prudnik (14-9) lost at home to fifteenth ranked Astoria Bydg. (6-17) 80-86 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pogon Prudnik. Astoria Bydg. made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Pogon Prudnik turnovers. It was a great evening for Dorian Szyttenholm (193-83, agency: Promotex) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Center Mateusz Fatz (205-96) helped adding 14 points and 12 rebounds. Swingman Adrian Mroczek-Truskowski (192-85) responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds and center Patryk Nowerski (205-91) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Astoria Bydg. maintains fifteenth place with 6-17 record. Loser Pogon Prudnik keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. They share it with GKS Tychy and Polonia Leszno. The best player for the winners was Damian Pieloch (195-89) who scored 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Power forward Marcin Salamonik (202-83) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. GTK Gliwice's coach Pawel Turkiewicz used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Swingman Aleksander Lenczuk (193-93) produced 20 points and forward Marcin Bluma (201-89) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by SKK Siedlce's players. Kotwica moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Notec Inowr. Notec Inowr. lost third consecutive game. Znicz Basket outrebounded AZS AGH Krk. 40-22 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. AZS AGH Krk. was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was center Damian Cechniak (208-93) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Power forward Mateusz Szwed (198-91) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Five Znicz Basket players scored in double figures.
