Filip Put gets MVP of the Week award for Polish 2Liga (by Court Side) - Feb 21, 2017

Filip Put
Filip Put (201-F-93) had a great game in the last round for Asseco II and that's him to receive a Court Side 2Liga Player of the Week award for round 24.
The 23-year old forward had the game-high 31 points adding eight rebounds and seven assists for Asseco II in his team's victory, helping them to outclass TKM Wloclawek (#13, 2-20) with 54-point margin 115-61. Asseco II is placed at 3rd position in their group in Polish 2Liga. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Asseco II will need more victories to improve their 14-8 record. In the team's last game Put had a remarkable 88.2% from 2-point range. He turned to be Asseco II's top player in his first season with the team. Filip Put averages this season 20.0ppg and 5.8rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young point guard Adam Skiba (182-PG-99) of MKS DG 2. Skiba impressed basketball fans with 29 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Bad luck as MKS DG 2 lost that game 125-131 to the higher-ranked Pogon RS (#8, 9-13). MKS DG 2 managed to keep the same 12th spot in Group C. 18 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories MKS DG 2 managed to get this year. Skiba is well-known by MKS DG 2 fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Lukasz Kuczynski (194-F-85) of Tur Bielsk Pdl. (#5). Kuczynski scored 28 points and grabbed fifteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Kuczynski's great performance Tur Bielsk Pdl. lost 82-92 to the lower-ranked Rosa III Radom (#12, 5-18). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Tur Bielsk Pdl. needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams in Group B. Their record is 15 victories and 9 lost games. Kuczynski has a great season in Poland. After 23 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.4ppg (2nd best). He also has 1.3bpg and FGP: 59.4%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Bartosz Stawowski (187-SG-89) of AZS AWF Mick. - 24 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Jakub Simon (202-PF-96) of Suchy Las - 13 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Mariusz Konopatzki (192-G-96) of Asseco II - 10 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists
7. Szymon Budnikowski (200-C-84) of Gniezno - 15 points and 12 rebounds
8. Pawel Minciel (203-C/F-88) of Sudety - 19 points and 11 rebounds
9. Lukasz Frackiewicz (205-C-96) of Asseco II - 24 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Grzegorz Plocica (190-SG-80) of Przemysl - 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The Player of the Week awards are presented by Court Side. Court Side is the global leader in basketball management, and is widely regarded as the most dynamic and innovative company of its kind. It was the first Basketball Agency to launch its own website, and the first to have its own database. Court Side has more agents and manpower within its organization, than any other competitor, and its international network of basketball contacts is still unparalleled.
