There were many interesting games last round. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Twarde Pierniki as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Twarde Pierniki smashed 17th ranked Stabill in Torun 111-70. Twarde Pierniki dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Stabill's 34. They outrebounded Stabill 40-21 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Twarde Pierniki looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international Lukasz Wisniewski (186-84, college: Barton Co. CC, agency: Promotex) who scored 14 points and 7 assists. Croatian forward Jure Skific (202-88, agency: 011 Sports) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. Twarde Pierniki's coach Jacek Winnicki felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Alex Welsh (200-94, college: Colorado Springs) produced 20 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Stabill lost sixth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 19 lost games. Stabill will play next round against Trefl trying to get back on the winning streak. Twarde Pierniki will try to continue on its current victory against twelfth ranked Polpharma in Starogard.
Very important is a home loss of second ranked Stelmet (15-6) against sixth ranked MKS Dabrowa Gornicza (13-8) on Sunday night. Host Stelmet was defeated by MKS Dabrowa Gornicza in Zielona Gora 75-65. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Stelmet. The former international Bartlomiej Woloszyn (196-86) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Piotr Pamula contributed with 20 points and 4 assists for the winners. The former international swingman Przemyslaw Zamojski (193-86, college: Independence CC) replied with 19 points for Stelmet. MKS Dabrowa Gornicza moved-up to fifth place. Defending champion Stelmet keeps the second position with six games lost. MKS Dabrowa Gornicza will play against higher ranked Stal Ostrow Wlkp. (#4) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Stelmet will play against Krosno and hopes to get back on the winning track.
A very close game took place in Zgorzelec between Trefl and PGE Turow. Twelfth ranked Trefl (11-10) got a very close victory on the road over 9th ranked PGE Turow (12-10). Trefl managed to escape with a 2-point win 81-79 on Wednesday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of Nikola Markovic who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Tweety Carter responded with 19 points and 4 assists. Trefl moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Energa Czarni and Szczecin. PGE Turow lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. Trefl will meet bottom-ranked Stabill (#17) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. PGE Turow will play against Energa Czarni (#9) in Slupsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
A very interesting game took place in Gdynia. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 13th ranked Asseco (9-12) to fourteenth ranked AZS Koszalin (7-14) 103-100 on Sunday evening. The winners were led by Remon Nelson who scored that evening 27 points (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. AZS Koszalin maintains fourteenth position with 7-14 record. Asseco at the other side keeps the thirteenth place with 12 games lost. AZS Koszalin's next round opponent will be TBV Start (#15) in Lublin.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Zgorzelec, where higher ranked Krosno (13-9) lost to ninth ranked PGE Turow (12-10) in a road game 67-79 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was Kirk Archibeque who had a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. PGE Turow moved-up to eighth place. Loser Krosno dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. PGE Turow will face Energa Czarni (#9) in Slupsk in the next round.

Rest of the games of round 20 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Polpharma was defeated by Rosa Radom in a road game 67-60. Start Lublin beat Polfarmex Kutno at home 81-77. Energa Czarni lost to Anwil on the opponent's court 63-69. Stal Ostrow managed to outperform Szczecin in a home game 74-69. Polfarmex Kutno was rolled over Krosno on the road 70-51. Bottom-ranked Siarka was defeated by Polpharma on its own court 62-77.

Rosa Radom - Polpharma 67-60

There was no surprise in Radom where 12th ranked Polpharma (11-11) was defeated by seventh ranked Rosa (12-9) 67-60 on Sunday. Rosa had a 30-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. Polpharma was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was international swingman Michal Sokolowski (196-92) who scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. The former international Robert Witka (205-81) chipped in 20 points. Forward Lukasz Diduszko (196-86) produced 12 points and 9 rebounds and Serbian power forward Uros Mirkovic (205-82, agency: BeoExcell) added 15 points respectively for the guests. Four Polpharma players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Rosa have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain seventh position with 12-9 record. Loser Polpharma keeps the twelfth place with 11 games lost. Rosa will have a break next round. Polpharma will play at home against the league's leader Twarde Pierniki (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.

Everything could happen in Lublin at the game between two tied teams. Both sixteenth ranked TBV Start and 15th ranked AZS Polfarmex had identical 4-16 record. This time TBV Start used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Kutno 81-77 on Sunday night. TBV Start made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. AZS Polfarmex was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American guard Doug Wiggins (183-88, college: Mountain St.) who scored 18 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. The other American import power forward Jason Boone (203-85, college: New York U., agency: Three Eye Sports) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). TBV Start's coach David Dedek used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. A very interesting game took place in Gdynia. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 13th ranked Asseco (9-12) to fourteenth ranked AZS Koszalin (7-14) 103-100 on Sunday evening. AZS Koszalin made 26-of-33 charity shots (78.8 percent) during the game. 27 personal fouls committed by Asseco helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by American point guard Remon Nelson (175-90, college: FoKoPo) who scored that evening 27 points (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and the other American import guard Curtis Millage (188-81, college: Arizona St., agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 17 points and 7 assists. Even 26 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) by international guard Filip Matczak (187-93) did not help to save the game for Asseco. The former international guard Marcel Ponitka (192-97) added 10 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists for the hosts. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Stal Ostrow Wlkp. shot 24 for 33 from the free-throw line, while Wilki Morskie only scored seven points from the stripe. Wilki Morskie was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American point guard Aaron Johnson (173-88, college: UAB, agency: Two Points) who scored 18 points and 4 assists. Vincentian center Shawn King (208-82, college: ORU, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Twarde Pierniki as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Twarde Pierniki smashed 17th ranked Stabill in Torun 111-70. Twarde Pierniki dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Stabill's 34. They outrebounded Stabill 40-21 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Twarde Pierniki looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international Lukasz Wisniewski (186-84, college: Barton Co. CC, agency: Promotex) who scored 14 points and 7 assists. Croatian forward Jure Skific (202-88, agency: 011 Sports) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. Twarde Pierniki's coach Jacek Winnicki felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Alex Welsh (200-94, college: Colorado Springs) produced 20 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Tomasz Wojdyla (201-77) added 21 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Stabill lost sixth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 19 lost games. Power forward Mateusz Bartosz (205-87) produced 7 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Grzegorz Grochowski (180-93, agency: AB Agency) added 11 points respectively for the guests. AZS Polfarmex's coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Despite that victory Krosno went down to sixth position due to points difference. AZS Polfarmex lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixteenth place with 17 games lost. Krosno will face league's second-placed Stelmet in Zielona Gora in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. A very close game took place in Zgorzelec between Trefl and PGE Turow. Twelfth ranked Trefl (11-10) got a very close victory on the road over 9th ranked PGE Turow (12-10). Trefl managed to escape with a 2-point win 81-79 on Wednesday evening. Trefl made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian power forward Nikola Markovic (208-89) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and American point guard Anthony Ireland (175-91, college: Loyola Mary) who added 20 points during the contest. Four Trefl players scored in double figures. American point guard Tweety Carter (180-86, college: Baylor) responded with 19 points and 4 assists and international swingman Michal Michalak (197-93) scored 13 points. Trefl moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Energa Czarni and Szczecin. PGE Turow lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. Trefl will meet bottom-ranked Stabill (#17) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. PGE Turow will play against Energa Czarni (#9) in Slupsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
