The Regular Season in 2Liga just ended. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with defeat of the leader and favorites losing the games.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked KK Warszawa (23-3) in Lublin on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by second ranked AZS UMCS Lbn (22-4) 69-64. It ended at the same time the 12-game winning streak of KK Warszawa. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. 24 personal fouls committed by KK Warszawa helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Power forward Mateusz Wisniewski (202-91) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Swingman Bartlomiej Karolak (198-92) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Przemyslaw Lewandowski (198-78, agency: Promotex) replied with 18 points for KK Warszawa. KK Warszawa's coach Andrzej Kierlewicz tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. AZS UMCS Lbn have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 22-4 record behind leader Slask Wroclaw. KK Warszawa at the other side still keeps top place with three games lost.
Fourth-ranked Stal II Ostrow (16-8) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Gornik (21-3). The visitors from Walbrzych managed to secure only one-point victory 66-65. However their fans expected easier game. Rafal Niesobski (189-82) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Piotr Niedzwiedzki chipped in 12 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Krzysztof Spala (190-93) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Gornik have a solid four-game winning streak. An interesting game for Pelplin (23-1) which hosted in Pelpin second-ranked SMS PZKosz (16-8). First ranked Pelplin had an easy win 84-67. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of SMS PZKosz. Karol Debski notched 24 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort. Even 19 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) by Daniel Golebiowski did not help to save the game for SMS PZKosz. They maintain first position with 23-1 record, which they share with R8 Basket Krk. Loser SMS PZKosz keeps the second place with eight games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams.
An interesting game for AZS AWF Mick. (21-3) which hosted in Katowice one of their biggest challengers Polonia Bytom (19-5). Second ranked AZS AWF Mick. had an easy win 104-75. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Polonia Bytom. The best player for the winners was Lukasz Szczypka who scored 34 points (!!!) and 7 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. AZS AWF Mick. have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 21-3 record having just two points less than leader Slask Wroclaw, which they share with Gornik Walbrzych. Polonia Bytom at the other side keeps the third place with five games lost.
2Liga top team - Slask (22-2) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed twelfth ranked Kalisz (4-20) 92-68. Aleksander Dziewa orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field). Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
