A.J. Slaughter
A.J. Slaughter
#8. Point guard A.J. Slaughter (191-87, also represented by BeoBasket, college: W.Kentucky, currently plays in France) contributed to a Strasbourg IG's victory against the closely-ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (16-6) 67-58 in the French ProA last Sunday. Dardan Berisha
Dardan Berisha
#9. Former international shooting guard Dardan Berisha (191-88, currently plays in Italy) was not able to secure a victory for one of league's weakest teams Juvecaserta (9-13) in their last game. Despite Berisha's very good performance Juvecaserta lost 79-85 in Cantu to the higher-ranked (#12) AV Cantu. He recorded 15 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 28 minutes. It was Juvecaserta's fourth consecutive loss in a row. Berisha has averaged so far 7.0ppg, 4.0rpg, 2.7apg and 1.7spg in three games. He used to play for the Polish national team two years ago.

Tomasz Gielo
Tomasz Gielo
#10. Forward Tomasz Gielo (205-93, college: Mississippi, currently plays in Spain) faced previously mentioned Adam Waczynski in the Spanish Liga Endesa last game. Gielo couldn't help Joventut (7-16) in their game against Unicaja Malaga (15-7). He scored 9 points in 19 minutes. But Joventut was edged 77-74 in Malaga by the much higher-ranked (#5) Unicaja. Gielo has averaged so far 4.3ppg and 1.7rpg in 23 games. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Polish National Team roster.

#11. Former international center Przemyslaw Karnowski (216-93, currently plays college basketball in the States) helped Gonzaga win their game against the South Dakota State University crushing them 66-46 in the NCAA National Tournament Round 1 on Thursday night. He scored 10 points in 17 minutes. Karnowski averaged so far 12.5ppg, 5.9rpg and 1.9apg in 34 games. He used to play for the Polish national team two years ago.

#12. Former international forward Konrad Tota (196-80, college: Dickinson St., currently plays in Germany) helped SG Schwelmer Baskets win their game against the 11th-ranked Hertener Loewen crushing them 95-70 in the German Regionalliga (fourth division) in Saturday night's game. Tota scored 9 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 3 assists. He has averaged so far 8.2ppg, 4.7rpg and 2.1apg. Despite Tota played previously for the Canadian university national team, he is currently in the Polish national team roster.

#13. Former U18 international swingman Robert Banach (197-97, currently plays in Italy) helped Valdiceppo win their game against the 11th-ranked Giulianova crushing them 81-44 in the Italian Serie B (third division) in Sunday night's game. He scored 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Banach has averaged so far 4.7ppg and 3.0rpg. He used to play for the Polish U18 national team two years ago.

The list of other players, who all have Polish passport but never been selected to any of Polish national teams:

#1. Andy Mazurczak (188-G, agency: Duran International, college: Wisc.-Parkside, currently plays in Greece) led Kavala to an easy victory against the league outsider Pagrati (2-19) crushing them 100-55 in the Greek A2 (second division) in Saturday night's game. Mazurczak recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and making 10 passes. He also added 6 rebounds; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Mazurczak's third season in pro basketball. Enosi Kalathosfairisis Kavalas (6-14) is placed 13th in the A2. It was his team's first victory after five consecutive loses. Mazurczak's stats this season are: 12.4ppg, 3.8rpg, 4.5apg and 1.4spg. He is a naturalized American. Apparently Mazurczak has never played in Poland.

#2. Maciej Baginski (195-SF-95, currently plays in Iceland) could not help Thor Thorl (12-10) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Thor Thorl lost 85-99 on the road to the lower-ranked (#8) Grindavik. Baginski was the top scorer with 27 points (made all of his seven free throws) in 34 minutes. Baginski averaged so far 14.9ppg, 4.1rpg, 1.8apg and 1.4spg in 23 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Polish and Icelandic. Despite Baginski's Polish passport, he previously played for the Icelandic U18 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Polish team.

#3. Experienced Konrad Wysocki (202-F-82, college: Princeton, currently plays in Germany) contributed to an easy victory against the eighth-ranked Uni Baskets (13-14) 91-72 in the German ProA (second division) on Sunday night. Wysocki recorded a double-double by scoring 10 points and getting 11 rebounds. He also added 3 assists and 4 steals. Crailsheim Merlins (22-5) is placed second in the ProA. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Wysocki's stats this season are: 10.1ppg, 5.2rpg and 1.9apg. He is another player who holds two passports: Polish and German.

#4. Aleksander Lichodzijewski (204-PF-84, currently plays in Belgium) contributed to a Basic-Fit Brussels' victory against the closely-ranked Kangoeroes (14-11) 79-67 in the Belgian Euromillions League last Saturday. Lichodzijewski scored 9 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Basic-Fit Brussels (14-10) is placed third in the Euromillions League. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Lichodzijewski is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Basic-Fit Brussels' roster. He has averaged so far 8.0ppg, 3.5rpg and 1.8apg. Lichodzijewski has both Polish and Belgian nationalities.

#5. Liraz Ariely (185-PG-92, agency: Gross Zeev ISA, currently plays in Israel) was not able to help Hapoel Migdal Haemek (10-13) in their last game. Despite Ariely's very good performance Hapoel Migdal Haemek was crushed 93-69 in Nes Ziyona by the higher-ranked (#5) Ironi Nes-Ziona. He was the second best scorer with 17 points. Ariely also added 3 assists in 27 minutes. It was Hapoel Migdal Haemek's third consecutive loss in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Ariely averaged so far 10.7ppg, 2.6rpg, 1.8apg and 1.4spg in 22 games. He also holds two passports: Polish and Israeli. Despite Ariely's Polish nationality, he previously played for the Israeli U20 national team and probably cannot be called to the Polish team.

#6. Daniel Motyka (180-PG-92, college: Wisc.-Superior, currently plays in Sweden) was the major contributor in an IK Eos' victory against the eighth-ranked Talje Knights 95-78 in the Swedish Basketettan (second division) on Saturday night. Motyka scored 15 points. Motyka has averaged so far 8.6ppg and 2.6rpg.

#7. Wojciech Rogacewicz (203-F-86, college: Mount Olive, currently plays in Germany) was not able to secure a victory for Stade in their game against Sixers in the German Regionalliga (fourth division). He scored 5 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 11 minutes. His team lost 66-70. Rogacewicz has averaged so far 3.8ppg and 2.4rpg in 16 games.
