Benfica snatched a narrow 14:13 lead after the opening quarter. They stayed in charge in the second period. Benfica arrived at the big break up by three points 31:28. However FC Porto denied the deficit in the third term. They pulled ahead for a 47:48 lead at the final break. FC Porto kept the lead throughout the fourth frame. Carlos Andrade (197-F-78, college: Queens, NC) had the chance to force overtime late in regulation but the referee ruled his long distance shot two points and FC Porto got away with the win. South looked better in the second half and managed to come up with two victories. It was only however enough to reduce the gap to 2 points at the end.
