Quinta dos Lombos - Alges 76:82

Alges defended their Liga Feminina title. They swept the championship series against Quinta dos Lombos to regain the title. Katie Gearlds (186-G/F-84, college: Purdue) stepped up with 28 points to pace Alges to the decisive 82:76 victory in the third game of the series.
Alges did not waste time to surge ahead. The visitors rallied to a 31:16 lead after ten minutes. Lombos were able to slow their opponents down in the second stanza. The hosts trimmed the deficit at 8-point mark at the interval 40:48. Alges were back in the drivers seat in the third period. The visitors ignited a 23:16 run to make it 15-point lead at the final intermission. Quinta dos Lombos fought hard to save the game. They went on a 20:11 spurt in the fourth quarter but came up short of victory at the end. Laura Broomfield (185-F-90, college: N.Carolina) delivered 15 points, while Joana Soeiro (170-PG-95) had 11 points for the winning side. Marcia Costa responded with 18 points for Quinta dos Lombos. Tatiana Keshler chipped in 16 points in the loss.

AD Vagos earned Vitor Hugo Cup title. They edged Alges 65:61 tonight to celebrate the first trophy of the new season. Ebony Ellis (190-C-88, college: N.Illinois) came up with 25 points and 12 rebounds to lead the winners.
AD Vagos enjoyed a 17:13 lead ten minutes into the game. Alges cut the deficit in the second frame. They got within 3 points at the interval 25:28. Alges stayed close throughout the third quarter. They got within two points at the final intermission 40:42. AD Vagos survived the challenge and snatched a tough victory at the end. Daniela Domingues (176-G/F-92) scored 17 points, while Lilian Goncalves (186-F-79) added 12 points in the victory. Jessica Almeida (172-PG-93) answered with 18 points for Alges. Ana Coelho (C-74) netted 12 points in the loss.

Alges earned the Portuguese Cup title. They overcame CAB Madeira in the Final tonight. Laura Broomfield (185-F-90, college: N.Carolina) led the winners with 31 points and 20 rebounds. She was trumped the MVP after the game.
Alges started the game strong. They cleared off to a 22:14 lead ten minutes into the encounter. Alges stretched the gap in the second quarter. They accumulated a 44:33 halftime advantage. Alges kept CAB Madeira at distance throughout the third term. They accounted for a 61:49 advantage with ten minutes left in the game. CAB Madeira fired 23 points in the fourth frame trying to avoid the loss but Alges hung on tight sealing the winning outcome at the end. Ana Oliveira (176-F-83, college: UTSA) netted 13 points, while Joana Bernardeco (168-G-90) chipped in 10 points in the win. Jheri Booker (183-F, college: Tennessee St.) responded with 24 points and 12 boards for CAB Madeira. Maria Correia (174-G/F-91) chipped in 18 points in the loss.

Alges claimed SuperCup title. They overcame AD Vagos at the Galitos Pavilion. Laura Broomfield (185-F-90, college: N.Carolina) came up with 25 points and 14 rebounds to lead the winners.
Alges eked out a 16:14 lead after ten minutes. AD Vagos bounced back in the second quarter. They grabbed a 30:28 halftime lead. AD Vagos stretched their advantage in the third quarter. They ensured a 49:42 buffer heading into the fourth stanza. But it was not enough for the victory. Alges went on a massive run in the final period and snatched a tough win at the end. Courtney Jones (187-F-89, agency: Merit Sports, college: LSU) delivered 18 points, while Jessica Almeida (172-PG-93) added 9 points for Alges. Joana Lopes (185-SF-86) and Daniela Domingues (176-G/F-92) answered with 14 points each for AD Vagos.

CAB Madeira claimed the Federation Cup title. They knocked down Quinta dos Lombos in the Final tonight. Carmen Reynolds (182-G/F-90, college: Michigan) nailed 22 points and grabbed 8 rebounds to pace the winners.
Quinta got to a slightly better start. They enjoyed a 17:15 lead after ten minutes. The teams traded baskets throughout the second quarter. Quinta ensured a narrow 32:30 lead at the interval. They extended the lead in the third term. Quinta seemed en route to the victory when they entered the fourth period up by five points 46:41. But CAB Madeira turned things around in the fourth frame. They triggered a 21:10 run to steal the victory at the end. Jheri Booker (183-F, college: Tennessee St.) and Marta Bravo (180-F-85) finished with 13 points each for the winning side. Ashley Daniels (187-F-89, college: Arkansas) answered with 12 points and 15 boards for Quinta dos Lombos. Felicite Mendes (170-SG-91) netted 11 points in defeat.
