    Terceira claim Proliga title - May 27, 2017


    Barreirense - Terceira 56-60

    Terceira celebrate Proliga title. They upset Barreirense on the road to sweep the championship series. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Barreirense won third quarter 11-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Terceira won last quarter 14-12. Naturalized Sao Tome and Principe center Ekjersey Viana (203-77) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Pedro Santos (190-94) chipped in 11 points and 5 assists during the contest. Four Terceira players scored in double figures. Terceira's coach Daniel Brandao used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international guard Antonio Pires (185-86) responded with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Tiago Raimundo (194-90) scored 8 points and 9 rebounds.
