24-year old guard Ezinne Kalu (173-G-92) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's best team Olivais and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 22. She had the game-high 26 points adding four assists for Olivais in her team's victory, helping them to crush CD Torres N. (#11, 3-16) with 17-point margin 79-62. It allowed Olivais to consolidate first place in the Portuguese Liga Feminina. Olivais have a solid 16-3 record. In the team's last game Kalu had a remarkable 100.0% from 2-point range. She turned to be Olivais' top player in her first season with the team. Savannah State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Kalu is league's best scorer averaging so far 21.5ppg. Kalu is in league's top in assists (3rd best: 4.4apg) and averages solid 4.3spg and 52.4% FGP.
Second best performed player last round was Kamilah Jackson (180-F-92) of GDESSA. She is American forward in her first season at GDESSA. In the last game Jackson recorded impressive double-double of 20 points and 17 rebounds. Bad luck as GDESSA was edged by slightly higher-ranked Benfica (#5, 13-6) 68-66. GDESSA managed to keep the same 7th spot in the standings. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But 11-8 record is not bad and everything may still change. Jackson is one of the most experienced players at GDESSA and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.
Third place about best performers goes to forward Aleighsa Welch (183-F) of Lombos Quinta (#8). Welch scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Despite Welch's great performance Lombos Quinta lost 52-62 to the higher-ranked CAB Madeira (#4, 13-6). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Lombos Quinta ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 10 games, recording just nine victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Welch could help Lombos Quinta to bring them higher in the standings. Welch has a very solid season. In 17 games in Portugal she scored 15.6ppg. She also has 7.3rpg, 3.1apg and FGP: 57.1%.

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
