Matea Vrdoljak: We want the title! - Dec 23, 2011

E-mail Jeremee:
Jeremee's Articles

Matea Vrdoljak (186-F-85, agency: Promotex) was a very good surprise in Alges team last season and kept playing in Portugal this season, now in the champions Quinta dos Lombos.

Matea is, mostly, a team player and was very important until now, both in the Portuguese League and in Eurocup games.

For 2012, the goal is to be better and win every game until the title is back to Quinta!

Eurobasket: What do you think of the level of Portuguese Basketball?
Matea Vrdoljak:Portuguese league this year is much more competitive, all of teams are playing much harder and faster and that makes league more interesting!!

E:Are you satisfied with your individual results until now?
MV:My individual stats can be,need to be better on all fronts! I can not said that I'm not satisfied but my team is not doing really good right now,so because of that I can not be really satisfied first with team results and than with my individual results!Hope I can change it!

E: What are your expectations for the rest of the season?
MV:I believe Quinta dos Lombos can fight for every trophy this year!We were not lucky in the beginning because our point guard had knee injury and that disrupted our plans!! With better and stronger work as a team, we can make a lot!!

E:Who do you think are the best team and the best player in the league?
MV: I think there is more teams this year that is going to fight for championship, and because of that league is more competitive and interesting!I think that Flavia Santos,Jennifer Risper,Christina Wirth,Lady Comfort dominated the first part of the league!Maybe there is other players but I didn't have opportunity to play against them, aginst all team from the league!

E: What do you want to fulfill in 2012?
MV: My goal for 2012 is work and play better, stronger!! Also I would like to help my team to win the title!! My main goal all times is to win and enjoy playing basketball!!
