AD Vagos and BoaViagem enter Federation Cup Final - Jan 28, 2012

AD Vagos and BoaViagem will play in the title clash of Federation Cup. They celebrated victories in the respective semifinals tonight to reach the Final.
AD Vagos held off Montijobanda 84:78 in the semifinal battle. Joana Lopes (185-SF-86) scored 21 points and grabbed 7 rebounds to pace the winners. Montijobanda used a 31:17 run in the second quarter to pile up a 45:33 halftime lead. But AD Vagos slowly recovered in the second half. They erased the deficit and forced overtime. AD Vagos exploded with 18 points in the extra five minutes and escaped with a tough win at the end. Ines Faustino (170-G-92) posted 15 points, while Lilian Goncalves (186-F-79) added 14 points in the win. Marcia Costa answered with game-high 29 points for Montijobanda. Ta-Myra Davis (185-F/C-87, college: Wright St.) finished with 20 points and 24 rebounds in the loss.
BoaViagem prevailed against Alges 70:57. Corin Adams (170-G-88, agency: Gamble Sports Management, college: Morgan St.) fired 26 points and collected 8 rebounds to lead BoaViagem. Lady Comfort (188-C-86, college: Temple) contributed 23 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Christina Wirth (186-G/F-87, college: Vanderbilt) came up with 17 points for Alges.
The final game is scheduled for Sunday in Alges.


Olivais keep Brandao for another season - 1 day ago

Olivais/UrgiCentro-SAN Coimbra (Liga Feminina) re-signed 25-year old international guard Michelle Brandao (178-91, college: ODU). She played there last season. In 13 Liga Feminina games she averaged 6.2ppg, 3.6rpg, 3.2apg (top 5) and 2.5spg. Brandao helped them to make it to the cup final. Carli Rosenthal (ex Diamond VE) agreed terms with Benfica - 1 day ago

Sport Lisboa Benfica (Liga Feminina) strengthened their roster with addition of American forward Carli Rosenthal (190, college: St.Mary's, CA). She played in the summer at Diamond Valley Eagles in Australian Big V. In 22 games she recorded 6.8ppg, 7.7rpg and 1.5apg. Among other achievements Rosenthal's team made it to the WCC Tournament Semifinals for two years in a row (2012 and 2013). Ndeye Fall (ex Gran Canaria) is a newcomer at Lousada - 4 days ago

28-year old Senegalese ex-international guard Ndeye Fall (88). She played last season at Gran Canaria in Spanish LFB league, but left. In two games she recorded just 2.5ppg, 1.0rpg and 1.5apg. Fall was also a member of Senegalese international program for some years. She played for Senegalese Senior National Team in 2013 and previously for U19 National Team in 2013.
