The game between third ranked Boa Viagem (10-5) and fourth ranked GDESSA (10-5) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Boa Viagem was defeated by GDESSA in a tough game in Angra Heroismo 68-74. GDESSA forced 21 Boa Viagem turnovers. It was a good game for American guard Angie Ned (175-85, college: Cal-Irvine, agency: Gamble Sports Management) who led her team to a victory with 23 points and 6 rebounds. The former international guard Joana Bernardeco (168-90) contributed with 22 points for the winners. American guard Corin Adams (170-88, college: Morgan St., agency: Gamble Sports Management) answered with 28 points and 8 rebounds for Boa Viagem. GDESSA moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Boa Viagem. GDESSA is looking forward to face CAB Madeira (#6) in Funchal in the next round. Boa Viagem will play on the road against Montijobanda and is hoping to win this game.
Liga Feminina top team - Alges (14-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Montijobanda (6-8) 72-46. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Montijobanda. It was a great evening for American guard Jennifer Risper (175-87, college: Vanderbilt) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Sofia Silva helped adding 17 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American power forward Ta-Myra Davis (185-87, college: Wright St.) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds. Montijobanda's coach Carlos Caetano gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Alges have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain first place with 14-1 record, which they share with AD Vagos. Newly promoted Montijobanda keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. Alges will play against Lombos Quinta (#5) in Carcavelos in the next round. Montijobanda will play at home against Boa Viagem in Angra Heroismo and hopes to get back on the winning track.

The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for AD Vagos. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Alges. Barcelos at the other side keep the tenth place with 12 games lost. AD Vagos will meet EMA Menres (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Barcelos will play against AFC-Liberty S. in Porto and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 15: bottom-ranked CDTorres N. were smashed by Lombos Quinta on the road 84-56. Olivais won against EMA Menres on its own court 65-56. Barcelos were outscored by Boa Viagem in Angra Heroismo 75-39.
The most impressive performance of 15th round was 19 points and 12 rebounds by Hillary Carlson of Lombos Quinta.


AD Vagos - Barcelos 67-26

The game between second ranked AD Vagos (14-1) and 10th ranked Barcelos (4-12) in Vagos on Sunday ended with biggest points difference. AD Vagos outscored guests from Barcelos 67-26. The game without a history. AD Vagos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Barcelos to just 0 points in second quarter and to 9 points in first half. AD Vagos held Barcelos to an opponent 16.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 43.3 percent accuracy of the winners. AD Vagos forced 28 Barcelos turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Barcelos' players. It was a quality performance for Brazilian center Flavia Santos (187-82) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. Brazilian forward Lilian Goncalves (186-79) accounted for 15 points for the winning side. Forward Ana Tenreiro (-82) came up with 5 points and 13 rebounds and American forward Taneskei Richardson (182-88, college: Jacksonville, agency: Gamble Sports Management) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Barcelos in the defeat. No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Lombos Quinta (9-6) crushed bottom-ranked CDTorres N. (1-14) in Carcavelos 84-56 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Lombos Quinta. CDTorres N. managed to win third quarter 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening.
