Eleven teams will compete in LPB 2012/13, while Proliga will keep the 12 teams.

FC Porto left the League and will not have any senior team in the new season, keeping a blank place in the LPB team board. Alges and Fisica, promoted from Proliga, assured conditions to play at the higher level.

The first tournament, the Antonio Pratas/LPB Cup, will start October 5th, with the teams divided in four grups:

North: Barcelos and Vitoria Guimaraes
Center-North: Acadmica, Ovarense and Sampaense
Center-South: Alges, Fisica and Lusitania
South: Barreirense, CAB Madeira and Benfica

In the Proliga, we'll have 12 teams. The big surprise is the Benfica B, who got their place after Imortal's refusal to join the League. Desportivo Leca will also play, for the first time, in the league, after conquering their place as CNB1 North Champions.

The first tournament, the Antonio Pratas/Proliga Cup, will start September 29th, with the teams divided in four groups:

North: Desportivo Leca, Maia Basket and Guifoes
Center-North: Sangalhos, Illiabum and Oliveirense
Center-South: AngraBasket, Casino Ginasio and Electrico
South: Galitos, Benfica B and Terceira Basket
