The Regular Season in LPB just started. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round.

Galitos-Tley - Academica 64-69

The guests trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 5 points. 26 personal fouls committed by Galitos-Tley helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Spanish forward Arnette Hallman (199-88) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists. International center Marco Goncalves (206-84) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Academica players scored in double figures. The former international guard Antonio Tavares (183-75) answered with 19 points and American forward Perry Stevenson (206-87, college: Kentucky) added 8 points, 13 rebounds and 6 blocks in the effort for Galitos-Tley.

The hosts trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 25-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a very good performance for American guard Charlie Swiggett (185, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 7 assists. The former international forward Paulo Cunha (200-80) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Slovenian forward Matic Sirnik (200-91) answered with 22 points and 7 rebounds and Montenegrin forward Marko Loncovic (200-91) added 19 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Barcelos. The game was mostly controlled by Ovarense. Alges was better in second period 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Alges to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded Alges 36-20 including 24 on the defensive glass. Power forward Mario Goncalves (208-80) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Guard Jose Miguel Barbosa (176-90) chipped in 20 points and 4 assists. Four Ovarense players scored in double figures. International Rui Quintino (194-83) produced 13 points and 6 rebounds and guard Diogo Correia (182-90) added 14 points respectively for lost side.

At the losing side naturalized Sao Tome and Principe power forward Ekjersey Viana (203-77) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 22 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Carlos Dias (197-79) scored 9 points.

CAB Madeira was very close to get their first win. But it seems they have to wait a little bit longer. Benfica forced 22 CAB Madeira turnovers.
