Pedro Pinto
The second day in the Portuguese League highlighted a surprise with Galitos flying to Azores and coming back with a fantastic win over Lusitania, 60-66.

In the Barreiro team, Pedro Pinto (188-PG-88) was the best scorer, with 23 points. Pinto hadn't scored that many points since November 8th 2009, when Barreirense (his former team) met Sampaense. Without Tomas Lopez available, Joao Fernandes was called to the point and Pedro Pinto stated his scoring abilities, something he seemed long forgotten.

Sampaense made their premiere in the season, at home, facing Vitoria Guimaraes, who averaged a second win, 75-76. Rookie Al Rapier (200-F-89, agency: Dynamics Global Management, college: Stony Brook) made an impressive performance, scoring 31 points and grabbing 9 rebounds, but as Sampaense didn't score a point from the bench, Guimaraes profited their team's depth. Dain Swetalla's 14 points and Jose Silva's 13 points were essential in Fernando Sa winning strategy.

CAB Madeira played their second home game and, with Jose Costa out by injury, swingman Jorge Freitas (180-G/F-88) was called to the starting five. The Madeira born player made his best LPB performance ever, scoring 20 points, with 5 out 11 three-pointers made. Freitas proved his capacity to start in a team where Mario Fernandes in the past and Jose Costa this season don't leave him much minutes to play.
