Axiers Sucre
21-year old forward Matic Sirnik (200-F-91) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Barcelos and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 3.
He had the game-high 21 points adding five rebounds and two assists for Barcelos in his team's victory, helping them to beat Galitos-Tley (#7, 1-2) 72-67. Barcelos is placed at 4th position in Portuguese league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Barcelos will need more victories to improve their 2-1 record. In the team's last game Sirnik had a remarkable three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be Barcelos' top player in his first season with the team. Sirnik has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 19.3ppg) and averages solid 55.6% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Antonio Pires (185-G-86) of Alges. He is a guard in his first season at Alges. In the last game Pires recorded impressive double-double of 17 points and 10 assists. Bad luck as Alges was edged by Benfica (2-0) 70-66. The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Pires is a newcomer at Alges and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Al Rapier (200-F-89, agency: Dynamics Global Management) of Sampaense (#10). Rapier scored 22 points and grabbed ten rebounds. Despite Rapier's great performance Sampaense lost 59-66 to Fisica (#9, 1-2). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Sampaense can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 2 games. Too bad for Rapier he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Rapier has individually a great season in Portugal. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 26.5ppg (best scorer) and rebounds with 9.5rpg (6th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Marcel Momplasir (205-C-81) of Lusitania - 13 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Marko Loncovic (200-F-91) of Barcelos - 18 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Nuno Oliveira (186-PG-89) of Barcelos - 12 points, 12 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Ekjersey Viana (203-F/C-77) of Fisica - 8 points and 14 rebounds
8. Mohamed Camara (196-F-83) of Lusitania - 17 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Carlos Andrade (197-F-78) of Benfica - 13 points and 10 rebounds
10. Seth Doliboa (203-F-80) of Benfica - 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
