Naturalized Cape Verdean guard Ivan Almeida (198-G-89, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Vitoria SC, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 23-year old player had a double-double of 21 points and 19 rebounds, while his team crushed Fisica (#9, 1-3) with 24-point margin 77-53. Vitoria SC is placed at 2nd position in Cape Verdean LPB. They maintain perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Vitoria SC already had a very good start winning all 3 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Almeida had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range. He turned to be Vitoria SC's top player in his first season with the team. Former Stonehill College star has very solid stats this year. Almeida is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 11.0rpg) and averages impressive 60.0% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 23-year old Rui Coelho (191-G-89) of Barcelos. Coelho had a very good evening with a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Barcelos lost that game 69-74 to slightly higher-ranked Ovarense (#3, 3-1). This loss caused Barcelos to drop to 5th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 2-2 record is not bad and everything may still change. Coelho is well-known at Barcelos and is a proven leader in his second season with the team.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Brandon Sebirumbi (205-F-90, agency: Dynamics Global Management) of Sampaense (#8). Sebirumbi scored 19 points and grabbed ten rebounds. He was a key player of Sampaense, leading his team to a 91-89overtime win against slightly lower-ranked Galitos-Tley (#10, 1-3). The chances of Sampaense not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 2 games, recording just one victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Sebirumbi could try to bring Sampaense's a little bit higher in the standings. Sebirumbi has individually a great season in Portugal. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.7rpg (6th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Perry Stevenson (206-F-87) of Galitos-Tley - 13 points and 14 rebounds
5. Marko Loncovic (200-F-91) of Barcelos - 16 points and 6 rebounds
6. Carlos Andrade (197-F-78) of Benfica - 16 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists
7. Jorge Sing (192-G/F-77) of Sampaense - 12 points, 2 rebounds and 12 assists
8. Braima Freire (188-G-82) of Fisica - 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Al Rapier (200-F-89) of Sampaense - 13 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Pedro Pinto (188-PG-88) of Galitos-Tley - 25 points and 2 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
