Jones
American forward Courtney Jones (187-F-89, agency: Merit Sports) put on an amazing game in the last round for Alges, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 23-year old player had a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds, while her team crushed CDTorres N. (#8, 2-5) with 25-point margin 72-47. Alges is placed at 4th position in Portuguese Liga Feminina. They are still close to the very top. Alges would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 5-1 record. Jones turned to be Alges' top player in her first season with the team. Former Louisiana State University star has very solid stats this year. Jones is in league's top in points (8th best: 17.0ppg) and rebounds (9th best: 9.5rpg).

The second best player in last round's games was -year old Ana Raimundo of Ovarense. Raimundo had a very good evening with 24 points and 2 rebounds. Bad luck as Ovarense lost that game 57-78 to the higher-ranked GDESSA (#1, 6-1). Ovarense are still at the very bottom. 7 lost games are too many considering they did not win any game. Raimundo is a newcomer at Ovarense, but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.5ppg (#6).

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Tyeasha Moss (175-G-90) of league's top team GDESSA. Moss scored 19 points and passed four assists. She was a key player of GDESSA, leading her team to a 78-57 easy win against Ovarense (#12, 0-7). GDESSA confirms their top position in the standings Moss has a great season in Portugal. After only 7 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.7ppg (5th best), rebounds with 10.1rpg (8th best) and assists with 2.9apg (3rd best). She also has 2.9spg and and 3PT: 55.9%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Ebony Ellis (190-C-88) of AD Vagos - 23 points and 12 rebounds
5. Lady Comfort (188-C-86) of Olivais - 9 points, 15 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Laura Ferreira (177-G-95) of GDESSA - 11 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists

9. Daniela Domingues (176-G/F-92) of AD Vagos - 21 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Gabriela Raimundo) of Ovarense - 15 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
