Very exciting round. It does not happen too often that three games need overtime in just one round. The round was rather attractive and full of interesting results. The round ended with change at the leadership position, extra overtimes, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

Round 5 in Proliga means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Ponte de Sor where host Electrico FC (4-1) edged league's leader Maia Basket (4-1) 60-59 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Maia Basket. It was a key game for the second position in the league. They outrebounded Maia Basket 37-25 including 24 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was naturalized Cape Verdean swingman Mario Neves (190-77) who scored 8 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Forward Pedro Afonso (198-83) chipped in 11 points and 12 rebounds. Center Paulo Diamantino (203-85) produced 14 points for the guests. Electrico FC have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Maia Basket. Maia Basket will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Electrico FC will try to continue on its current victory against first ranked Oliveirense in Oliveira.

The best stats of 5th round was 18 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists by Tiago Raimundo of Illiabum.

Everything could happen in Lisboa at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Ginasio and bottom-ranked Benfica B had identical 0-3 record.
