American Ta-Myra Davis (185-F/C-87) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Boa Viagem and that's her to receive a Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 25-year old power forward had a double-double of 29 points and nineteen rebounds, while her team edged out Ovarense (#12, 0-8), the league's bottom-ranked team 73-70. Boa Viagem maintains the 6th position in Portuguese Liga Feminina. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Boa Viagem will need more victories to improve their 5-3 record. Davis turned to be Boa Viagem's top player in her first season with the team. Wright State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Davis is in league's top in points (4th best: 20.4ppg), rebounds (5th best: 11.6rpg) and averages solid 55.1% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 26-year old American center Lady Comfort (188-C-86) of second-ranked Olivais. Comfort impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 25 points and 15 rebounds. It was enough for Olivais to edge the lower-ranked CAB Madeira (#5, 5-1) by 2 points 66-64. Olivais' second position in has not changed. Her team lost just one game this season, while they won 6 matches. Comfort is a newcomer at Olivais and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.7ppg (#6). She also registered 14.8 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Carmen Reynolds (182-G/F-90) of CAB Madeira (#5). Reynolds showcased her all-around game by recording 26 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in the last round. She was a key player of CAB Madeira, leading her team to a 82-57 easy win against slightly lower-ranked AD Vagos (#7, 4-4). CAB Madeira is closer and closer to the top of the standings in Round 3. They will still need more victories. But 5-1 record is not that bad... Reynolds has a very solid season. In 4 games in Portugal she scored 21.3ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Laura Broomfield (185-F-90) of Alges - 16 points and 28 rebounds
5. Ebony Ellis (190-C-88) of AD Vagos - 24 points and 11 rebounds
6. Tyeasha Moss (175-G-90) of GDESSA - 23 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Monae Baker (185-F/C) of Montijobanda - 25 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists

9. Felicite Mendes (170-SG-91) of Lombos Quinta - 14 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Joana Ferreira) of Academico FC - 29 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
