Experienced American Seth Doliboa (203-F-80) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's leader Benfica and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 32-year old forward had a double-double of 28 points and ten rebounds, while his team beat Vitoria SC (#5, 4-3) 87-74. It allowed Benfica to consolidate first place in the Portuguese LPB. They maintain perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is already in a full swing and Benfica still have not lost a single game, getting all 7 victories. In the team's last game Doliboa had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 6 attempts. It's his second year at Benfica and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Wright State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Doliboa is in league's top in rebounds (9th best: 8.4rpg) and averages solid 59.5% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was -year old American forward Jamarkus Holt (205-F) of Alges. Holt impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 28 points and 15 rebounds. Bad luck as Alges was edged by the higher-ranked Sampaense (#6, 3-4) 75-72. This loss caused Alges to drop to 10th position in the standings. 6 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Alges managed to get this year. Holt is a newcomer at Alges and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Montenegrin Marko Loncovic (200-F-91) of Barcelos (#7). Loncovic got into 30-points club by scoring 34 points in the last round. He went also for seven rebounds . Despite Loncovic's great performance Barcelos lost 85-88 to the higher-ranked Academica (#4, 5-2). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Barcelos not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 5 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Loncovic could try to bring Barcelos' a little bit higher in the standings. Loncovic has individually a great season in Portugal. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.0ppg (2nd best) and rebounds with 9.9rpg (5th best). He also has 2.3spg and FGP: 60.8%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. LaceDarius Dunn (193-G-87) of Benfica - 28 points and 7 rebounds
5. Joao Balseiro (192-F-87) of Academica - 30 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Arnette Hallman (199-F-88) of Academica - 15 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Al Rapier (200-F-89) of Sampaense - 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Jason Smith (183-G-83) of CAB Madeira - 20 points, 2 rebounds and 7 assists
9. Ivan Almeida (198-G-89) of Vitoria SC - 21 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Chris Barnes (205-F/C-88) of Galitos-Tley - 9 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
