The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Oliveirense as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Oliveirense smashed 7th ranked Angrabasket in Oliveira 93-64. The game was mostly controlled by Oliveirense. Angrabasket managed to win fourth quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Oliveirense forced 23 Angrabasket turnovers and outrebounded them 33-18 including 20 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was the former international center Nuno Cortez (205-82) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds. The former international guard Joao Reveles (187-80) chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Oliveirense's coach Sergio Salvador felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Hugo Pola (180-92) produced 25 points, 5 assists and 6 steals for the guests. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Angrabasket at the other side keeps the seventh place with five games lost. Angrabasket will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Oliveirense will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked Terceira in Angra Heroismo.
Another exciting game was between fourth ranked Electrico FC and 5th ranked Guifoes where Electrico FC (5-2) beat Guifoes (4-3) on the road 78-66.
