The game between third ranked Sangalhos (6-3) and ninth ranked Benfica B (2-6) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Sangalhos were edged by Benfica B in a tough game in Lisboa 63-65. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Sangalhos. The hosts trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 18-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for power forward Candido Sa (202-92) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Joao Ribeiro (201-PF-93) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Benfica B's coach Goran Nogic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Swingman Emanuel Silva (188-79) answered with 22 points and 9 rebounds for Sangalhos. Benfica B moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Ginasio. Sangalhos at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Illiabum. Benfica B is looking forward to face higher ranked Guifoes (#6) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sangalhos will have a break next round.
The game in Figueira da Foz was also worth to mention about. Fifth ranked Illiabum (6-3) played at the court of 8th ranked Ginasio (2-6). Illiabum managed to secure a 9-point victory 73-64. International Miguel Queiroz (202-91) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and Joao Figueiredo chipped in 21 points. The best for the losing side was swingman Pedro Rocha (190-87) with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Ginasio's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Illiabum have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Sangalhos. Ginasio at the other side keeps the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with Benfica B. Illiabum will play against league's second-placed Oliveirense in Oliveira in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ginasio will play at home against Leca (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Guifoes was also quite interesting. Second ranked Maia Basket (7-1) played at the court of 6th ranked Guifoes (4-4). Maia Basket did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 77-58 on Saturday. Maia Basket have a solid series of three victories in a row. Maia Basket keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Oliveirense. Guifoes lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with four games lost. Maia Basket will meet Angrabasket (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Guifoes will play against Benfica B in Lisboa and hope to secure a win.
The game between 10th ranked Leca (1-7) and fourth ranked Electrico FC (6-2) in Leca ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Ponte de Sor outscored Leca 74-42. The best player for the winners was Mario Neves who scored 9 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Leca's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Electrico FC moved-up to third place. Leca lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with seven games lost. Electrico FC's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Terceira (#11) in Angra Heroismo and are hoping to win another game. Leca will play on the road against Ginasio in Figueira da Foz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Benfica B - Sangalhos 65-63

Leca - Electrico FC 42-74

The game was mostly controlled by Electrico FC. Leca was better in fourth quarter 11-7. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Leca to just 6 points in third quarter. Electrico FC dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Leca's 26. They outrebounded Leca 43-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was naturalized Cape Verdean swingman Mario Neves (190-77) who scored 9 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Tiago Pinto (183-88) chipped in 21 points. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Daniel Ramos (193-91) who recorded 16 points and 5 rebounds and Pedro Cunha added 8 points respectively. Galitos-Barreiro (LPB) added to their roster 25-year old American (has also Saint Lucian passport) forward Khyle Marshall (200-98kg-92, college: Butler, agency: Duran International). He just played at St Chamond in French ProB. Marshall managed to play in three leagues in two countries this year. In three ProB games he recorded 3.7ppg and 2.7rpg.
