Eleventh-ranked Terceira (1-9) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked Maia Basket (9-1) in Angra Heroismo on Saturday. The visitors from Maia managed to secure only two-point victory 62-60. However their fans expected much easier game. Maia Basket have a solid three-game winning streak. Maia Basket maintains first position with 9-1 record. Terceira lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
An interesting game for Oliveirense (8-1) which hosted in Oliveira 4th ranked Illiabum (6-4). Second ranked Oliveirense had an easy win 97-79. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Illiabum. The former international center Nuno Cortez (205-C-82) scored 21 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Joao Abreu chipped in 19 points and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side international Miguel Queiroz (202-91) responded with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Oliveirense have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 8-1 record behind leader Maia Basket. Illiabum at the other side dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. Oliveirense will play against Sangalhos (#4) at home in the next round. Illiabum will have a break next round.
Proliga top team - Maia Basket (9-1) managed to deliver another win on Friday. This time they beat seventh ranked Angrabasket (3-7) 72-57. Nuno Marcal notched 21 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort. Even 15 points by Hugo Pola did not help to save the game for Angrabasket. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Maia Basket have a solid three-game winning streak. Maia Basket maintains first position with 9-1 record. Loser Angrabasket dropped to the eighth place with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

They maintain third position with 8-2 record behind leader Maia Basket. Angrabasket at the other side dropped to the eighth place with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
The game between 11th ranked Terceira (1-9) and third ranked Electrico FC (8-2) in Angra Heroismo on Sunday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Ponte de Sor outscored Terceira 78-52. Worth to mention a great performance of Tiago Pinto who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Electrico FC have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 8-2 record behind leader Maia Basket. Terceira lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

In the last two games of round 10 Guifoes beat Benfica B on the road 62-58. Ginasio won against Leca on its own court 72-59.

Benfica B - Guifoes 58-62

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Guifoes (5-4) beat 9th ranked Benfica B (2-7) in Lisboa 62-58 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 62-58. Guifoes forced 25 Benfica B turnovers. Benfica B was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of center Joao Moreira (200-85) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 8 rebounds. Naturalized Angolan guard Joao Pereira (186-83) contributed with 18 points and 4 steals for the winners. Power forward Candido Sa (202-92) replied with 14 points and 8 rebounds and Joao Ribeiro (201-93) added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Benfica B. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Guifoes maintains sixth position with 5-4 record. Newly promoted Benfica B keeps the ninth place with seven games lost. Guifoes will face Ginasio (#7) in Figueira da Foz in the next round. Benfica B will play at home against Leca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

They dominated on the defensive end, holding Angrabasket to just 7 points in third quarter. Electrico FC dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Angrabasket's 30. Electrico FC forced 23 Angrabasket turnovers and outrebounded them 54-26 including a 25-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Aylton Medeiros (194-88) fired a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners. Naturalized Cape Verdean swingman Mario Neves (190-77) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Four Electrico FC players scored in double figures. Swingman Cristiano Sousa (187-84) produced 23 points and 6 steals and guard Hugo Pola (180-92) added 14 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Oliveirense - Illiabum 97-79

An interesting game for Oliveirense (8-1) which hosted in Oliveira 4th ranked Illiabum (6-4). Second ranked Oliveirense had an easy win 97-79. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Illiabum. It looked good early as Illiabum took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Oliveirense had a 33-20 second period charge getting the lead and Illiabum was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 79-97. Oliveirense made 20-of-23 charity shots (87.0 percent) during the game. The former international center Nuno Cortez (205-82) scored 21 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Joao Abreu (179-83) chipped in 19 points and 6 assists during the contest. Five Oliveirense players scored in double figures. At the losing side international Miguel Queiroz (202-91) responded with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international guard Joao Figueiredo (183-79) scored 23 points.
