American Lady Comfort (188-C-86) had an amazing evening in the last round for Olivais and that's her to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 11. The 26-year old center had a double-double of 20 points and twenty rebounds, while her team edged out Montijobanda (#10, 2-8) 64-62. Olivais maintains the 3rd position in Portuguese Liga Feminina. They are still close to the very top. Olivais would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 9-2 record. Comfort turned to be Olivais' top player in her first season with the team. Temple University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Comfort is in league's top in points (4th best: 19.4ppg), rebounds (4th best: 14.2rpg) and averages solid 55.8% FGP.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 24-year old American center Ebony Ellis (190-C-88, agency: Promotex) of AD Vagos. Ellis impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 21 points and 21 rebounds. Of course she lead AD Vagos to another comfortable win outscoring Ovarense (#12, 0-11) 80-46. AD Vagos' 5th position in the standings has not changed. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But 7-4 record is not bad and everything may still change. Ellis is a newcomer at AD Vagos and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.8ppg (#2). She also registered 14.8 boards per game.
The third best performed player last round was American Cherise Daniel (180-G) of Montijobanda (#10). Daniel got into 30-points club by scoring 42 points in the last round. Despite Daniel's great performance Montijobanda lost 62-64 to the higher-ranked Olivais (#3, 9-2). But her team cannot count on just a single shooter as she also needs help of the other teammates. Montijobanda can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-8 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Daniel she does not play for a better team. But maybe if she did, her season stats would not be that high. Daniel has a very solid season. In 3 games in Portugal she scored 21.3ppg.
Other top performing players last week: 4. Donica Cosby (172-G-88) of CDTorres N. - 26 points and 7 rebounds 5. Ta-Myra Davis (185-F/C-87) of Boa Viagem - 17 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists 6. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
