International point guard Nuno Oliveira (186-PG-89) had an amazing evening in the last round for Barcelos and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 23-year old playmaker had a double-double of 25 points and ten rebounds, while his team beat Sampaense (#7, 4-6) 90-83. Barcelos maintains the 6th position in Portuguese LPB. Barcelos is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-5 record. It's Oliveira's second year at Barcelos and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Oliveira has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (8th best: 15.5ppg).

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 27-year old Cape Verdean shooting guard Joao Gomes (201-SG-85) of league's best team Benfica. Gomes impressed basketball fans with 23 points and 9 rebounds. Of course Benfica cruised to a 91-80 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Ovarense (#4, 7-3). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Benfica consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. He plays for the best team in the league and Benfica managed to win all 10 games keeping perfect record. Gomes is well-known by Benfica fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Cape Verdean Ivan Almeida (198-G-89, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) of Vitoria SC (#5). Almeida scored 25 points and grabbed fifteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Almeida's great performance Vitoria SC lost 64-71 to the lower-ranked Lusitania (#9, 2-7). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Vitoria SC needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 5 victories and 5 lost games. Almeida has a great season in Portugal. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.7ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 9.6rpg (6th best). Ivan Almeida has also Portuguese passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Marko Loncovic (200-F-91) of Barcelos - 23 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Sergi Coll (204-F/C-82) of Ovarense - 28 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Rui Quintino (194-SF-83) of Alges - 15 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Marcel Momplasir (205-C-81) of Lusitania - 14 points and 13 rebounds
8. Al Rapier (200-F-89) of Sampaense - 21 points and 11 rebounds
9. Carlos Ferreirinho (200-F/G-91) of Sampaense - 26 points and 7 rebounds
10. Josimar Cardoso (201-F-87) of Alges - 18 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
