Joao Reveles
Former international guard Joao Reveles (187-G-80) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Oliveirense, receiving a Eurobasket.com Proliga Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 32-year old player had a double-double of 35 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Electrico FC (#3, 12-4) in overtime 96-88. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Oliveirense to consolidate first place in the Portuguese Proliga. Oliveirense has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 14-1. In the team's last game Reveles had a remarkable five three-pointers out of 12 attempts. He turned to be Oliveirense's top player in his first season with the team. Joao Reveles has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (4th best: 16.5ppg), assists (3rd best: 4.7apg) and averages impressive 2.5spg,59.1% FGP and 43.3% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was 35-year old Cape Verdean Mario Neves (190-G/F-77) of Electrico FC. Neves had a very good evening with a double-double of 13 points and 23 rebounds. Bad luck as Electrico FC lost that overtime game 88-96 to slightly higher-ranked Oliveirense (#1, 14-1). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Electrico FC still maintains its place in the top 3 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 12-4 record is not bad at all. Neves is well-known at Electrico FC and is a proven leader in his second season with the team.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Lamar Wright (191-G) of Angra (#7). Wright showcased his all-around game by recording 25 points, seven rebounds and six assists in the last round. He was a key player of Angra, leading his team to a 90-75 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Benfica B (#9, 4-11). The chances of Angra ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 8 games, recording just seven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Wright could help Angra to bring them higher in the standings. Wright has a very solid season. In 4 games in Portugal he scored 26.3ppg. Wright attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Flavio Gomes (194-G/F-89) of Angra - 19 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Joao Gaspar (196-F-89) of Angra - 18 points and 9 rebounds
6. Frederico Tavares (194-F-88) of Terceira - 20 points and 9 rebounds
7. Joao Lanzinha (188-G-89) of Electrico FC - 22 points and 10 rebounds
8. Aylton Medeiros (194-F-88) of Electrico FC - 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Joao Figueiredo (183-G-79) of Illiabum - 24 points and 3 rebounds
10. Carlos Resende) of Oliveirense - 19 points and 7 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
