The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute susprises and upsets. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with defeat of the leader and favorites losing the games.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Oliveirense (14-2) in Oliveira on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by second ranked Maia Basket (13-3) 84-80. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Oliveirense. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Oliveirense was trailing by 8 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 21-15 charge of Maia Basket, which allowed them to win the game. Maia Basket made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. It was a good game for the former international forward Nuno Marcal (205-75) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds (went 13 for 13 at the free throw line !!!). Guard Pedro Catarino (184-90) contributed with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international guard Joao Reveles (187-80) replied with 29 points, 6 assists and 4 steals for Oliveirense. Maia Basket have a solid four-game winning streak. Maia Basket maintains second position with 13-3 record behind leader Oliveirense. Oliveirense at the other side still keeps top place with two games lost. Maia Basket is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Leca (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Oliveirense will play against Terceira (#8) in Angra Heroismo and is hoping to win this game.
Bottom-ranked Ginasio managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the six-game losing streak. This time they won against seventh-ranked Angrabasket in Figueira da Foz 70-64. Naturalized Cape Verdean forward Joaquim Soares (198-83) had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Pedro Rocha chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Cape Verdean swingman Flavio Gomes (194-89) with 22 points and 9 rebounds. Ginasio (4-12) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Benfica B and Leca. Angrabasket at the other side keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. Ginasio will play against higher ranked Sangalhos (#4) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Angrabasket will play against the league's leader Oliveirense where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
The game in Guifoes was also quite interesting. 4th ranked Sangalhos (9-8) played at the court of sixth ranked Guifoes (8-8). Guifoes did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 69-51 on Saturday. Joao Pereira notched 24 points to lead the effort. Guifoes' coach Paulo Fidalgo used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 24 points and 8 rebounds by Emanuel Silva did not help to save the game for Sangalhos. Guifoes maintains sixth position with 8-8 record. Loser Sangalhos keep the fourth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Illiabum. Guifoes will meet higher ranked Electrico FC (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sangalhos will play against Ginasio in Figueira da Foz and hope to secure a win.
A very interesting game took place in Leca. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Angrabasket (7-10) to tenth ranked Leca (4-12) 73-72 on Saturday evening. The best player for the winners was Tiago Lopes who scored 21 points and 4 steals. Leca's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. They have a solid three-game winning streak. Leca moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Benfica B and Ginasio. Angrabasket at the other side keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. Leca's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Maia Basket on the road and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
The game between 10th ranked Leca (4-12) and fifth ranked Illiabum (9-8) in Leca on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Ilhavo outscored Leca 71-43. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Leca. Illiabum moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Sangalhos. Newly promoted Leca dropped to the bottom position with 12 games lost. Illiabum will face Benfica B (#9) in Lisboa in the next round where they are favorite. Leca will play on the road against the league's second-placed Maia Basket.

In the last game of round 18 Terceira beat Benfica B on the road 67-49.


Ginasio - Angra 70-64

Bottom-ranked Ginasio managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the six-game losing streak. This time they won against seventh-ranked Angrabasket in Figueira da Foz 70-64. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 30-20. But Angrabasket won second period 9-8. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Benfica B - Terceira 49-67

The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighth ranked Terceira's (6-11) road victory over 9th ranked Benfica B (4-12) in Lisboa 67-49 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Terceira. Benfica B was better in second period 14-7. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Terceira dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Benfica B's 14. They outrebounded Benfica B 40-24 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for forward Frederico Tavares (194-88) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Thiago Tomassi (193) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Swingman Ricardo Rosa (193) replied with 17 points and 4 assists and Joao Ribeiro (201-93) added 6 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Benfica B. Benfica B's coach Alexandre Almeida rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Terceira maintains eighth position with 6-11 record. Newly promoted Benfica B keeps the ninth place with 12 games lost. Terceira will face league's leader Oliveirense in Oliveira in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Benfica B will play on the road against Illiabum (#5) in Ilhavo.

Naturalized Angolan guard Joao Pereira (186-83) notched 24 points to lead the effort and guard Pedro Silva (178-82) supported him with 17 points and 6 assists.
