LaceDarius
Dunn
American LaceDarius Dunn (193-G-87, agency: Three Eye Sports) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's leader Benfica and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 25-year old guard had the game-high 33 points adding eight rebounds and eight assists for Benfica in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Barcelos (#7, 6-8) with 73-point margin 125-52. It allowed Benfica to consolidate first place in the Portuguese LPB. Benfica has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 14-1. In the team's last game Dunn had a remarkable five three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He turned to be Benfica's top player in his first season with the team. Baylor University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Dunn is in league's top in points (9th best: 15.6ppg) and averages solid 61.5% FGP and 43.2% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 29-year old American guard Jason Smith (183-G-83) of second-ranked CAB Madeira. Smith impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 30 points and 10 assists. Of course he lead CAB Madeira to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Sampaense (#6, 8-7) 103-77. CAB Madeira's second position in the standings has not changed. His team lost just three games this season, while they won 12 matches. Smith is a newcomer at CAB Madeira and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Jamarkus Holt (205-F) of Alges (#10). Holt scored 23 points and grabbed fifteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Holt's great performance Alges lost 73-77 to slightly higher-ranked Lusitania (#8, 5-10). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Alges can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-13 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Holt he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Holt has individually a great season in Portugal. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.4ppg (6th best) and rebounds with 10.6rpg (2nd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Paulo Cunha (200-F-80) of Vitoria SC - 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Durrell Nevels (198-F-86) of Lusitania - 14 points, 17 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Edson Rosario (193-SF-82) of Fisica - 21 points, 15 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Dain Swetalla (206-C-86) of Vitoria SC - 24 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Elvis Evora (205-C-78) of Benfica - 20 points and 6 rebounds
9. Mohamed Camara (196-F-83) of Lusitania - 15 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists
10. Marko Loncovic (200-F-91) of Barcelos - 28 points and 9 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
