Flavio Gomes
There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Second Stage in Proliga. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with loss of the undefeated team, derby games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Sangalhos (1-1) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by Angrabasket (2-0) 81-73. They made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Cape Verdean swingman Flavio Gomes (194-88) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. American Deshaunt Walker (183, college: SF Austin) contributed with 27 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winners. Forward Nuno Bizarro (192-80) replied with 25 points and 5 rebounds for Sangalhos. Angrabasket is looking forward to face Sanjoanense (#16) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sangalhos will play against Belenenses CF (#9) in Lisboa and are hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
Another interesting game for Academico FC (1-1) which played in Porto against Vasco (0-2). Academico FC had an easy win 81-69. Forward Joao Ribeiro (190-93) scored 20 points to lead the charge for the winners and Pedro Gouveia chipped in 11 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Academico FC's coach Diogo Perdigao allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. point guard Miguel Toreia (180-93) responded with 16 points and 5 rebounds. Academico FC will play against Esgueira / Oli (#8) at home in the next round. Vasco will play against Barreirense in Barreiro to get more than just one victory in their record.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Porto: Dragon Force (#3) and Vasco (#6). Dragon Force (2-0) won against visiting Vasco (0-2) 64-53. Kevin Clay Gomes notched a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds to lead the effort. Even 12 points and 9 rebounds by Raul Fernandez did not help to save the game for Vasco. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dragon Force will meet at home Estoril Basket (#4) in the next round. Vasco will play against Barreirense in Barreiro and hope to win that game.
The game in Esgueira was also worth to mention about. Dragon Force (2-0) played at the court of Esgueira / Oli (0-2). Dragon Force managed to secure a 6-point victory 62-56. The best player for the winners was Agenor Rolo who scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Esgueira / Oli's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Dragon Force's next round opponent will be Estoril Basket (#4) at home. Esgueira / Oli will play against Academico FC and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Important game to mention about took place in Torres Vedras. Belenenses CF (2-0) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging Fisica (0-2) 78-76 on Sunday evening. Andre Miguens orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 4 assists. Belenenses CF will face Sangalhos (#12) at home in the next round. Fisica will play against Guifoes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 2:
In Places 1-8 winless Benfica B lost to undefeated Barreirense on the road 78-82.
In Places 9-16 winless Academia lost to Guifoes on its own court 71-80. Winless Sanjoanense lost to undefeated Ginasio in Figueira da Foz 59-64.
The most impressive performance of 2nd round was 20 points and 13 rebounds by Pedro Bagio of Fisica.
