There was no lack of excitement in the last round games. The round ended with change at the leadership position, favorites losing the games and even winless team recording their first victory.

There was a change at the Proliga leadership position after last games. The most important game of round 4 took place in Angra Heroismo between two undefeated teams of Places 1-8 where Terceira beat Barreirense (3-1) 69-51 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Barreirense. It was a key game for the top position in Places 1-8. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Sao Tome and Principe center Ekjersey Viana (203-77) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and guard Luis-Felipe Tomassi (175-92) who added 14 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals during the contest. Terceira's coach Daniel Brandao used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward Kenny Martin (208-93, college: Ark.-Fort Smith) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Terceira have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of Places 1-8 leader, which they share with Dragon Force. Barreirense at the other side dropped to the third place with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Angra. Barreirense will play next round against Esgueira / Oli trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Terceira will try to continue on its current victory against first ranked Dragon Force in Porto.
Undefeated Ginasio (3-1) recorded its first loss on the court of top-ranked Angrabasket. Visitors were defeated by Angrabasket 93-85. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Ginasio. The winners were led by Cape Verdean swingman Flavio Gomes (194-88) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds and Deshaunt Walker supported him with 28 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Even a double-double of 27 points and 15 rebounds by the former international center Marco Goncalves (206-84) did not help to save the game for Ginasio. Angrabasket have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain ninth position in Places 9-16 with 4-0 record. Ginasio at the other side keeps the tenth place with one game lost. They share the position with Sangalhos. Angrabasket will play against Belenenses CF (#12) in Lisboa in the next round. Ginasio will play at home against Fisica and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Dragon Force (3-0) against seventh ranked Benfica B (0-3) on Saturday night. Visiting Dragon Force was defeated by Benfica B in a tough game in Lisboa 59-66. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Dragon Force. Aljaz Slutej fired 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Pedro Oliveira produced 12 points for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Despite that victory Benfica B went down to eighth position (Places 1-8) due to points difference. Loser Dragon Force still keeps top place with 0 game lost. They share the position with Terceira. Benfica B will meet higher ranked Academico FC (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Dragon Force will play against the league's second-placed Terceira (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.

Esgueira / Oli will play against Barreirense in Barreiro and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Worth to mention a great performance of Pedro Azevedo who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 8 rebounds. Sanjoanense's coach Augusto Almeida used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Sanjoanense (1-3) left bottom position moving up to fourteenth place in Places 9-16, which they share with Fisica. Loser Belenenses CF keeps the twelfth position with two games lost. Sanjoanense will face higher ranked Guifoes (#13) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.

In Places 9-16 Guifoes lost to Sangalhos on the opponent's court 72-76. Fisica outscored Academia in a home game 101-62.

Vasco has registered their first victory this season after three consecutive losses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Esgueira, where they defeated Esgueira / Oli (1-3) 67-56. Strangely Esgueira / Oli outrebounded Vasco 38-26 including 24 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for point guard Miguel Toreia (180-93) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 6 assists. Proliga Round 13: Barreirense defeats Dragon Force in the game between Top 4 teams - 3 days ago
There will be only one (last) round of the Second Stage in Proliga. An interesting game for Barreirense (10-2) which hosted in Barreiro their biggest opponent Dragon Force (8-4). First ranked Barreirense managed to get a 8-point victory 71-63. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Dragon Force.
