Aljaz Slutej
Slovenian Guard Aljaz Slutej (188-G-96) had a great game in the last round for Benfica B, receiving a Eurobasket.com Proliga Player of the Week award for round 4 (Second Stage).
The 20-year old player was the main contributor (18 points, six rebounds and six assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Dragon Force (#1, 3-0) 66-59. Thanks to this victory Benfica B moved-up to the 8th position in Portuguese Proliga. They are still not able to win a single game in the league yet. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 3 games and recorded no victories. Slutej turned to be Benfica B's top player in his first season with the team. Aljaz Slutej has solid league stats. He is in league's top in assists (2nd best: 5.2apg) and averages impressive 2.5spg and 50.7% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 28-year old Cape Verdean Flavio Gomes (194-G/F-88) of Angra. Gomes had a very good evening with a double-double of 28 points and 13 rebounds. Of course Angra cruised to a 93-85 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Ginasio (#11, 3-1). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Angra keeps 9th position. A very good start of the Second Stage for his team, which won so far all 4 games without any defeat. Gomes is a newcomer at Angra, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.6ppg (#3). He also registered 9.8 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Angra's star - American guard Deshaunt Walker (180-PG-91). Walker showcased his all-around game by recording 28 points, seven rebounds and six assists in the last round. He was another key player of Angra, helping his team with a 93-85 win against slightly lower-ranked Ginasio (#11, 3-1). Angra started extremely well this Second Stage. They recorded 4 victories without losing a single game. Walker turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Walker has a great season in Portugal. After 18 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.6ppg (2nd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Marco Goncalves (206-C-84) of Ginasio - 27 points and 15 rebounds
5. Frederico Tavares (194-F-88) of Fisica - 17 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Andre Duarte (178-G-81) of Sangalhos - 24 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Kenny Martin (208-F-93) of Barreirense - 16 points and 10 rebounds
8. Ekjersey Viana (203-C-77) of Terceira - 17 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Bruno Fernando (200-F/C-96) of Esgueira - 10 points, 12 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Pedro Marques (173-PG-95) of Ginasio - 20 points, 2 rebounds and 6 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
