Point guard Jacques Conceicao (187-PG-89) had a great game in the last round for Galitos-Barreiro, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 19.
The 27-year old player was the main contributor (26 points, four rebounds and three assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Illiabum (12-7) 83-74. Galitos-Barreiro is placed at 5th position in Portuguese LPB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Galitos-Barreiro will need more victories to improve their 12-7 record. In the team's last game Conceicao had a remarkable 55.6% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Galitos-Barreiro and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Jacques Conceicao averages this season 11.6ppg.

The second best player in last round's games was 26-year old Pedro Catarino (184-PG-90) of Maia Basket. Catarino had a very good evening with 32 points and 3 rebounds. Bad luck as Maia Basket lost that game 74-102 to the higher-ranked Vitoria SC (#4, 13-6). Maia Basket is still in a red zone at 11th spot in the standings. 16 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Maia Basket managed to get this year. Catarino is a newcomer at Maia Basket, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Andrew Guillory (190-G) of Sampaense (#12). Guillory scored 20 points and passed five assists. Despite Guillory's great performance Sampaense lost 59-73 to the higher-ranked Benfica (#3, 14-5). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Sampaense can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 2-17 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Too bad for Guillory he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Guillory has individually a great season in Portugal. After 18 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 4.4apg (4th best). He also has 2.1spg and FGP: 63.6%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Victor Moses (201-F-89) of Vitoria SC - 20 points and 5 rebounds
5. Nick Washburn (208-C-91) of FC Porto - 15 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Joao Guerreiro (205-F-90) of Vitoria SC - 20 points and 12 rebounds
7. Justin Reynolds (206-F/C-88) of Oliveirense - 14 points and 13 rebounds
8. Dominique Lee (196-F-91) of Galitos-Barreiro - 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Joao Balseiro (192-F-87) of Vitoria SC - 23 points and 2 assists
10. Sasa Borovnjak (206-C/F-89) of FC Porto - 16 points and 6 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
