Andrew
Guillory
American Andrew Guillory (190-G) had a very impressive game in the last round for Sampaense and that's him to receive a Court Side Player of the Week award for round 20.
The guard had the game-high 24 points adding three rebounds and six assists for Sampaense in his team's victory, helping them to beat Electrico FC (#10, 4-17) 91-78. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. Sampaense maintains the 12th position in Portuguese LPB. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. Sampaense have already lost 18 games and recorded just three victories. In the team's last game Guillory had a remarkable 80.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Sampaense's top player in his first season with the team. Arkansas Tech graduate has very impressive stats this year. Guillory is in league's top in assists (5th best: 4.5apg) and averages solid 2.1spg and 64.7% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 41-year old former international forward Nuno Marcal (205-F-75) of Maia Basket. Marcal impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 27 points and 15 rebounds. Bad luck as Maia Basket lost that game 55-94 to the higher-ranked Galitos-Barreiro (#5, 13-8). Maia Basket is still in a red zone at 11th spot in the standings. 18 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Maia Basket managed to get this year. Marcal is one of the most experienced players at Maia Basket and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.8ppg (#1). He also registered 8.5 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Serbian Nikola Tadic (206-F/C-88) of Illiabum (#7). Tadic scored 21 points and grabbed fourteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Tadic's great performance Illiabum lost 84-87 to CAB Madeira (12-9). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Illiabum needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 12 victories and 9 lost games. Tadic has a very solid season. In 19 games in Portugal he scored 13.7ppg. He also has 6.9rpg and FGP: 60.8%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Mario Neves (194-F/C-77) of Electrico FC - 16 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Kevin Coronel (197-F-91) of Electrico FC - 18 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Bryce Douvier (201-F-91) of Ovarense - 23 points and 12 rebounds
7. Diogo Ventura (193-PG-94) of Electrico FC - 18 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists
8. Nick Novak (182-PG-90) of Ovarense - 22 points and 12 assists
9. Alex Marzette (196-G-93) of CAB Madeira - 18 points and 3 rebounds
10. Josimar Cardoso (201-F-87) of Galitos-Barreiro - 17 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The Player of the Week awards are presented by Court Side. Court Side is the global leader in basketball management, and is widely regarded as the most dynamic and innovative company of its kind. It was the first Basketball Agency to launch its own website, and the first to have its own database. Court Side has more agents and manpower within its organization, than any other competitor, and its international network of basketball contacts is still unparalleled.
