The round was rather attractive and full of interesting results. The round ended with loss of the undefeated team and favorites losing the games.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Terceira (3-1) in Porto on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Dragon Force (4-0) 69-59. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Terceira. It was a key game for the top position in Places 1-8. Dragon Force had a 28-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was center Pedro Oliveira (204-0) who scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Cape Verdean center Kevin-Clay Gomes (209-95) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Dragon Force's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Mohamed Camara (196-83) produced 10 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Dragon Force have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place in Places 1-8 with 4-0 record. Terceira at the other side dropped to the third position with one game lost. They share it with Estoril Basket. Dragon Force are looking forward to face league's second-placed Barreirense in Barreiro in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Terceira will play against Academico FC and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
Important game to mention about took place in Lisbon. Eighth ranked Benfica B (1-3) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 6th ranked Academico FC (1-4) 66-65 in the game for the fifth place. Slovenian guard Aljaz Slutej (188-96) saved the victory by scoring 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Ricardo Monteiro contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Rui Sousa (190-83) answered with 18 points for Academico FC. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Benfica B left bottom position moving up to fifth place in Places 1-8. It was Academico FC's third loss in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Vasco and Esgueira. Benfica B will play against Vasco (#7) in Porto in the next round. Academico FC will play on the road against Terceira in Angra Heroismo to get more than just one victory in their record.

Loser Vasco keeps the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Esgueira and Academico FC. Estoril Basket will meet at home Esgueira / Oli (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Vasco will play against Benfica B in Lisboa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
A very interesting game took place in Guifoes. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 13th ranked Guifoes (2-3) to fifteenth ranked Sanjoanense (2-3) 73-71 in the fight for the twelfth place. Mario Goncalves nailed 23 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Guifoes' coach Nuno Filipe Gomes Freitas tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Sanjoanense moved-up to twelfth place in Places 9-16, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Guifoes. Sanjoanense's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Academia (#16) in Lisboa.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Figueira da Foz, where 11th ranked Ginasio (3-2) lost at home to fourteenth ranked Fisica (2-3) 78-84 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Nuno Monteiro who scored 29 points and 5 rebounds. Fisica moved-up to twelfth place in Places 9-16, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Ginasio keeps the eleventh position with two games lost. Fisica will face higher ranked Sangalhos (#10) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.

In the last two games of round 5 In Places 1-8 Esgueira was crushed by Barreirense in Barreiro 79-32.
In Places 9-16 Belenenses CF lost to undefeated Angra at home 61-66.
The best stats of 5th round was 25 points and 16 rebounds by Marco Goncalves of Ginasio.

Places 1-8
Vasco - Estoril Basket 57-63

The game in Porto was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Estoril Basket (3-1) played at the court of 6th ranked Vasco (1-4). Estoril Basket managed to secure a 6-point victory 63-57 on Sunday. Naturalized Angolan forward Paulo Ferreira (187-80) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds and guard Joao Veludo (177-92) scored 10 points. Barreirense - Esgueira 79-32

There was no surprise in Barreiro where 7th ranked Esgueira / Oli (1-4) was crushed by third ranked Barreirense (4-1) 79-32 on Saturday. Barreirense held Esgueira / Oli to an opponent 23.3 percent shooting from the field compared to 45.2 percent accuracy of the winners and made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Barreirense forced 21 Esgueira / Oli turnovers and outrebounded them 40-22 including 26 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Filipe Pinheiro (190-90) who scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Kenny Martin (208-93, college: Ark.-Fort Smith) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. Five Barreirense players scored in double figures. Swingman Matthew Moreira (185-93) produced 9 points and point guard Joao Neves (185-96) added 6 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Barreirense moved-up to second place in Places 1-8. Loser Esgueira / Oli dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Barreirense will face league's leader Dragon Force in Porto in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Esgueira / Oli will play on the road against Estoril Basket (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The best player for the winners was Cape Verdean swingman Flavio Gomes (194-88) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Hugo Pola (180-92) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Angrabasket players scored in double figures. Swingman Ricardo Rosa (193-92) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals and center Hugo Aurelio (200-80) added 8 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Angrabasket have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain ninth place in Places 9-16 with 5-0 record. Belenenses CF lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with three games lost. Angrabasket will face Guifoes (#15) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Belenenses CF will play against Ginasio and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
