Mohamed
Camara
Experienced Mohamed Camara (196-F-83) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's second-best Terceira and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Proliga Player of the Week award for round 8 (Second Stage).
The 33-year old forward had a double-double of 20 points and twelve rebounds, while his team crushed Esgueira (#7, 2-6) with 22-point margin 65-43. Terceira is placed at 2nd position in Portuguese Proliga. They are still close to the very top. Terceira would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 6-1 record. Camara turned to be Terceira's top player in his first season with the team. Camara has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (9th best: 14.4ppg), rebounds (6th best: 9.8rpg) and averages solid 61.0% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 28-year old Cape Verdean swingman Flavio Gomes (194-G/F-88) of Places 9-16 best team Angra. Gomes impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 23 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as Angra lost that game 75-107 to the lower-ranked Fisica (#10, 5-3). Angra managed to keep the same 1st spot in the standings. It was just his team's 1st loss in Second Stage, while they won 7 other games. Gomes is a newcomer at Angra and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.3ppg (#3). He also registered 10.0 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Frederico Tavares (194-F-88) of Fisica (#10). Tavares scored 29 points and grabbed five rebounds. He was a key player of Fisica, leading his team to a 107-75 easy win against slightly higher-ranked Angra (#9, 7-1). Fisica needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 5 victories and 3 lost games. Tavares has a great season in Portugal. After 18 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 5.5rpg (2nd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Miguel Salvador (187-G-81) of Fisica - 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Bernardo Neves (192-SF-96) of Ginasio - 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Elias Desport (203-F-92) of Sanjoanense - 10 points and 14 rebounds
7. Jose Torres (182-PG-91) of Belenenses CF - 19 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Ricardo Robalo (165-PG-84) of Fisica - 14 points, 2 rebounds and 8 assists
9. Guilherme Sequeira (190-G-95) of Vasco - 19 points and 8 rebounds
10. Joao Ribeiro (190-F-93) of Academico FC - 21 points and 4 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
