The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked FC Porto Ferpinta (21-5) in Guimaraes on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by fourth ranked Vitoria SC (19-7) 78-76. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of FC Porto Ferpinta. Vitoria SC looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of international forward Joao Guerreiro (205-90) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 6 rebounds. The former international forward Paulo Cunha (200-80) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. International Miguel Queiroz (202-91) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for FC Porto Ferpinta. FC Porto Ferpinta's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Vitoria SC moved-up to third place in Places 1-6, which they share with Oliveirense. Defending champion FC Porto Ferpinta still keeps top position with five games lost. Vitoria SC is looking forward to face Oliveirense (#4) in Oliveira in the next round. FC Porto Ferpinta will play at home against Galitos-Barreiro and is hoping to win this game.
An interesting game for Benfica (20-6) which hosted in Benfica their biggest opponent Oliveirense (19-7). Third ranked Benfica managed to get a 5-point victory 72-67. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Oliveirense. It was a key game for the second position in Places 1-6. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Hungarian forward Damian Hollis (203-88, college: G.Washington, agency: Inception Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and Carlos Morais who added 12 points and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side the former international forward Arnette Hallman (200-88) responded with 17 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Benfica moved-up to second place in Places 1-6. Oliveirense at the other side dropped to the third position with seven games lost. They share it with Vitoria SC. Benfica will play against Illiabum (#6) in Ilhavo in the next round. Oliveirense will play at home against Vitoria SC and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Lusitania (6-19) and Maia Basket (5-21), which took place in Maia. 9th ranked Lusitania lost to twelfth ranked Maia Basket in a road game 77-88 on Saturday. The winners were led by Pedro Catarino who scored that evening 39 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. Even a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds by Antonio Monteiro did not help to save the game for Lusitania. Maia Basket moved-up to eleventh place in Places 7-12. Lusitania lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 19 games lost. Maia Basket will meet higher ranked CAB Madeira (#8) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Lusitania will play against Sampaense and hope to secure a win.

Other games in round 4 were not that significant.
In Places 1-6 Illiabum was smashed by Galitos-Barreiro on the road 80-61.
In Places 7-12 bottom-ranked Sampaense lost to Ovarense on its own court 78-87. CAB Madeira managed to outperform Ovarense in Funchal 85-67.

Places 1-6
Benfica - Oliveirense 72-67

An interesting game for Benfica (20-6) which hosted in Benfica their biggest opponent Oliveirense (19-7). Third ranked Benfica managed to get a 5-point victory 72-67. The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifth ranked Galitos-Barreiro's (15-11) home victory over 6th ranked Illiabum (12-14) 80-61 on Saturday. They outrebounded Illiabum 31-15 including 21 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by American forward Stephen Grosey (201, college: Concordia Irvine) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and Canadian-Jamaican point guard Jarred Ogungbemi-Jackson (178-91) supported him with 14 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Even 24 points by Serbian power forward Nikola Tadic (206-88) did not help to save the game for Illiabum. Power forward Rafael Wildner (207-92) added 13 points for lost side. Galitos-Barreiro maintains fifth position in Places 1-6 with 15-11 record. Illiabum lost eighth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth place with 14 games lost. Galitos-Barreiro will meet league's leader FC Porto Ferpinta on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Illiabum will play against the league's second-placed Benfica (#2) and hope to secure a win.

Very expected game when 12th ranked Sampaense (4-21) lost to eighth ranked Ovarense (14-12) in Coimbra 78-87 on Sunday. The winners were led by Austrian-American forward Bryce Douvier (201-91, college: Texas A&M-CC) who scored that evening 23 points and 7 rebounds and American point guard Nick Novak (182-90, college: Pitt-Johnstown) supported him with 22 points and 6 assists. Even a double-double of 17 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists by American guard Andrew Guillory (190, college: Arkansas Tech) did not help to save the game for Sampaense. Serbian center Dusan Ognjenovic (216-91, agency: Dynamics Global Management) added 17 points and 13 rebounds for lost side. Ovarense moved-up to seventh place in Places 7-12. Newly promoted Sampaense stay dead last with 21 lost games. Ovarense will meet at home Electrico FC (#10) in the next round. Sampaense will play against Lusitania in Angra and hope to secure a win.

The winners were led by American guard Alex Marzette (196-93, college: Robert Morris) who scored that evening 22 points and 9 rebounds and the former international swingman Fabio Lima (198-88) supported him with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 16 points and 5 assists by American point guard Nick Novak (182-90, college: Pitt-Johnstown) did not help to save the game for Ovarense. His fellow American import guard Kyle Anderson (190-93, college: Delaware) added 13 points for lost side. Four Ovarense players scored in double figures. CAB Madeira maintains eighth position in Places 7-12 with 13-11 record. Loser Ovarense dropped to the seventh place with 12 games lost. CAB Madeira will meet at home Maia Basket (#11) in the next round. Ovarense will play against Electrico FC (#10) and hope to secure a win.

Terceira take advantage of home court in first game of final series of Proliga and grab first win. Next game will be played on 26th of May.
