Ezinne Kalu
There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in Liga Feminina.

The game between Top Four teams took place in Coimbra. First ranked host Olivais (14-3) defeated second-ranked Boa Viagem (13-6) 77-72. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Boa Viagem. Worth to mention a great performance of Nigerian-American guard Ezinne Kalu (173-92, college: Savannah St.) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and international guard Michelle Brandao (178-91, college: ODU) who added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists during the contest. American swingman Alexis Govan (178-93, college: W.Kentucky) responded with 20 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Olivais have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 14-3 record. Boa Viagem at the other side keeps the second place with six games lost. They share the position with Uniao Sportiva. Olivais are looking forward to face league's second-placed Uniao Sportiva in Ponta Delgada in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Boa Viagem will play on the road against CD Torres N. in Torres Novas and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
Sixth ranked CAB Madeira (11-6) crushed at home 12th ranked Lousada (3-15) by 37 points 105-68, which is the biggest margin this round. The winners were led by American forward Maria Blazejewski (185-91, college: L.Superior) who scored that evening 27 points and 9 rebounds and Joana Lopes supported her with 17 points and 8 assists. Even 25 points and 7 rebounds by American swingman Chelsea Waters (185, college: Gonzaga) did not help to save the game for Lousada. CAB Madeira moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Benfica. Lousada lost fourteenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. CAB Madeira will play against Academico FC (#10) in Porto in the next round where they are favorite. Lousada will play on the road against Lombos Quinta in Carcavelos and hopes to get back on the winning track.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 20: Uniao Sportiva destroyed CD Torres N. on the opponent's court 77-46. Benfica unfortunately lost to AD Vagos in a home game 62-70. Ovarense was rolled over GDESSA on the road 46-68.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 21 points and 7 rebounds by EeTisha Riddle of AD Vagos.

CD Torres N. - Uniao Sportiva 46-77

Very expected game in Torres Novas where 10th ranked CD Torres N. (3-14) was crushed by fourth ranked Uniao Sportiva (13-6) 77-46. Uniao Sportiva held CD Torres N. to an opponent 22.1 percent shooting from the field compared to 40.6 percent accuracy of the winners and made 18-of-21 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Uniao Sportiva outrebounded CD Torres N. 50-36 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by American guard Jasmine Crew (170-89, college: Seton Hall) who scored that evening 16 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals and American-Nigerian guard Sarah Ogoke (178-90, college: So.Poly State) supported her with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Four Uniao Sportiva players scored in double figures. Even 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by guard Marcia Carvalho (170-92) did not help to save the game for CD Torres N.. Brazilian forward Gabriela De-Paula (180-96) added 16 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Boa Viagem. CD Torres N. lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Academico FC. Uniao Sportiva will play against league's leader Olivais in Coimbra in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. CD Torres N. will play at home against Boa Viagem (#3) and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Benfica - AD Vagos 62-70

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Lisboa where fifth ranked AD Vagos (12-6) defeated one of their biggest challengers Benfica (11-6) 70-62. AD Vagos made 16-of-16 charity shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. The winners were led by American forward EeTisha Riddle (191-85, college: Missouri) who scored that evening 21 points and 7 rebounds and the former international swingman Daniela Domingues (176-92) supported her with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Even 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists by American forward Callan Taylor (182-90, college: Sacred Heart) did not help to save the game for Benfica. International center Luiana Livulo (190-91, college: UCLA) added 13 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Four Benfica players scored in double figures. Benfica's coach Andre Cardoso rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. AD Vagos moved-up to fourth place. Benfica at the other side dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with CAB Madeira. AD Vagos will play against GDESSA (#7) in Barreiro in the next round. Benfica will play at home against Ovarense and hopes to get back on the winning track.

GDESSA - Ovarense 68-46

Not a big story in a game in Barreiro where 9th ranked Ovarense (4-13) was rolled over by seventh ranked GDESSA (10-7) 68-46. GDESSA outrebounded Ovarense 43-31 including 32 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by American forward Kamilah Jackson (180-92, college: Hawaii) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Leonor Serralheiro (164-97) supported her with 13 points and 5 rebounds. Even 19 points and 8 rebounds by point guard Gabriela Raimundo (167-93) did not help to save the game for Ovarense. Point guard Ana Raimundo (167-93) added 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. GDESSA have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain seventh position with 10-7 record. Ovarense at the other side keeps the ninth place with 13 games lost. GDESSA will play against higher ranked AD Vagos (#4) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
