There were many interesting games last round. The round ended with loss of the undefeated team, extra overtimes, favorites losing the games and even winless team recording their first victory.

Undefeated Rovinari (3-1) recorded its first loss on the court of tenth ranked Ploiesti on Monday night. Visitors were defeated by Ploiesti 75-65. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Rovinari. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-65. It was a great shooting night for Ploiesti especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. Serbian guard Aleksandar Vlahovic (190-90) fired 20 points and 6 assists for the winners. The former international center Catalin Burlacu (210-77, agency: Court Side) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Czech power forward David Steffel (212-85) produced 19 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Defending champion (2-2) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Timisoara and CSM Bucuresti. Rovinari at the other side keeps the third position with one game lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Ploiesti is looking forward to face league's second-placed U-Mobitelco in Cluj in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Rovinari will play at home against Gaz Metan in Medias and is hoping to win this game.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Timisoara. Top-ranked U-Mobitelco faced 4th ranked Timisoara. Guests from Cluj (4-0) defeated host Timisoara (2-2) 89-79. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Derek Wright (180-86, college: Austin Peay St.) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 6 rebounds. Hristo Nikolov contributed with 21 points for the winners. American forward Dominique Archie (200-87, college: S.Carolina) replied with 20 points and 7 rebounds for Timisoara. U-Mobitelco have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Oradea. Timisoara at the other side dropped to the eighth place with two games lost. They share the position with Ploiesti and CSM Bucuresti. U-Mobitelco will play against Ploiesti (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Timisoara will play against the league's leader Oradea and hopes to get back on the winning track.
CSU Sibiu can celebrate their first win this season after three consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Pitesti (1-3) 93-87 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of Mantas Griskenas who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws). At the losing side Damien Kinloch responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. CSU Sibiu left bottom position moving up to eleventh place, which they share with Pitesti and Timba Timis. CSU Sibiu will meet CS Dinamo Bucuresti (#14) on the road in the next round. Pitesti will play against Miercurea Ciuc.
Undefeated leader Oradea delivered the fourth consecutive victory. This time they beat bottom-ranked Miercurea Ciuc (0-4) 94-78. The winners were led by Milos Pesic who scored that evening 27 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Oradea have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record, which they share with U.Mobitel.CN. Miercurea Ciuc at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Oradea's next round opponent will be Timisoara (#8) at home and are hoping to win another game. Miercurea Ciuc will play against Pitesti (#13) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
Bottom-ranked CS Dinamo Bucuresti (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 93-65 loss to sixth ranked Craiova (3-1) in Craiova on Monday evening. Ivan Miskovic fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. CS Dinamo Bucuresti's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Craiova moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser CS Dinamo Bucuresti still closes the standings with four games lost. Craiova will face Farul Const. (#15) in Constanca in the next round which should be another easy win for them. CS Dinamo Bucuresti will play at home against CSU Sibiu and looks forward to get finally their first victory.

Rest of the games of round 4 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Targu Mures defeated Timba Timis. in a road game 77-63. Gaz Metan beat CSM Bucuresti at home 94-88. Winless Farul Const. lost to Giurgiu on the opponent's court 71-87.



Timba Timis. - Targu Mures 63-77

There was no surprise in Timisoara where 11th ranked Timba Timosoara (1-3) was defeated by seventh ranked Targu Mures (3-1) 77-63 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Targu Mures. Timba Timosoara was better in fourth quarter 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Targu Mures forced 22 Timba Timosoara turnovers. Montenegrin guard Branko Cuic (197-78) fired 27 points and 5 assists for the winners. Center Liviu Dumitru (203-79) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds. American forward Jordan Glynn (200-89, college: SF Austin, agency: I.D.S. Law) produced 13 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Florin Popa (194) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Targu Mures have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Timba Timosoara keeps the eleventh position with three games lost. Targu Mures will face Giurgiu (#4) at home in the next round. Timba Timosoara will play against CSM Bucuresti (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

CSM Ploiesti and BCM Olimpic Baia Mare get promoted to Liga Nationala as they cinched top two places in Liga 1. In the game between each other CSM Ploiesti celebrated an 85-79 win. Adrian Movileanu (195-F-93) and Sebastian Ionescu (185-PG-97) top-scored for the winners with 14 points each. Angel Santana (198-F-77, college: St.Francis, NY) and Andrei Capuan followed them with 12 points in a win.
