Rebecca
Tobin
24-year old forward Rebecca Tobin (195-F-88) put on an amazing game in the last round for Alba Iulia and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 7.
She had the game-high 22 points adding nine rebounds and four assists for Alba Iulia in her team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team Oradea (#15, 0-7) with 45-point margin 78-33. Alba Iulia maintains the 6th position in Romanian Division A. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Alba Iulia will need more victories to improve their 4-3 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Tobin as usually she does not deliver so high stats. Rebecca Tobin averages this season 11.9ppg and 7.7rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Jence Rhoads (180-G-88) of Sf.Gheorghe. She is American guard in her first season at Sf.Gheorghe. In the last game Rhoads recorded impressive 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course she lead Sf.Gheorghe to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Rapid (#11, 2-4) 103-61. Sf.Gheorghe's 5th position in the standings has not changed. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But 4-2 record is not bad and everything may still change. Rhoads is a newcomer at Sf.Gheorghe and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to another Sf.Gheorghe's star - forward Mekia Valentine (193-F/C-88, agency: Merit Sports). Valentine scored 26 points and grabbed five rebounds. She was another key player of Sf.Gheorghe, helping her team with a 103-61 easy win against the lower-ranked Rapid (#11, 2-4). Sf.Gheorghe needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 4 victories and 2 lost games. Valentine has a great season in Romania. After only 6 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.8rpg (7th best). She also has 2.3bpg and FGP: 60.9%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Gabriela Toma (192-C-74) of Craiova - 14 points and 12 rebounds
5. Zorica Mitov (189-C-87) of Craiova - 18 points and 6 rebounds
6. Tiffany Brown (165-G-86) of Timisoara - 17 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Milica Ivanovic (175-G-88) of Sf.Gheorghe - 35 points and 3 rebounds
8. Chrissy Givens (180-F-85) of ICIM Arad - 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Ashley Arlen (187-F-90) of Alexandria - 13 points and 13 rebounds
10. Brittany Mingo (175-G-87) of Brasov - 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
