There was no lack of excitement in the last round games. The round ended with favorites losing the games and even winless team recording their first victory.

Miercurea Ciuc has finally registered their first victory this season after six consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat CS Dinamo Bucuresti (0-6) 92-82 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Miercurea Ciuc. CS Dinamo Bucuresti managed to win third quarter 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 26 personal fouls committed by CS Dinamo Bucuresti helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Croatian forward Franko Filipovic (203-87) scored 22 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Vlad Corpodean (194-91) chipped in 12 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Andrei Badila (190-84) with 22 points and 5 rebounds. Miercurea Ciuc (1-6) left bottom position moving up to fourteenth place. It was CS Dinamo Bucuresti's sixth loss in a row. They still closes the standings with six games lost. Miercurea Ciuc are looking forward to face higher ranked CSU Sibiu (#12) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. CS Dinamo Bucuresti will play against Timisoara and hopes to get finally their first victory.
Division A top team - Gaz Metan (6-1) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat fifth ranked U-Mobitelco (4-2) in Medias 92-80. Montenegrin-Serbian forward Ivan Ivanovic (205-80, agency: Beo Basket) notched 35 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and Slobodan Dundjerski supported him with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Even 22 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists by American guard Derek Wright (180-86, college: Austin Peay St.) did not help to save the game for U-Mobitelco. Gaz Metan maintains first position with 6-1 record. U-Mobitelco at the other side keeps the fifth place with two games lost. They share the position with Timisoara and CSM Bucuresti. Gaz Metan will play against Oradea (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. U-Mobitelco will play against Timba Timosoara in Timisoara and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Bottom-ranked Farul Const. (0-7) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. The game in Ploiesti was also worth to mention about. Third ranked Oradea (5-1) played at the court of 8th ranked Ploiesti (3-3). Oradea managed to secure a 9-point victory 94-85. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Ploiesti. It was a good game for William Franklin who led his team to a victory with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Oradea moved-up to second place, which they share with Targu Mures and Craiova. Defending champion Ploiesti keeps the eighth position with three games lost. Oradea's next round opponent will be league's leader Gaz Metan in Medias and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ploiesti will play on the road against Pitesti (#11).
An interesting game took place in Timisoara where 10th ranked Rovinari (3-3) was upset on the court of thirteenth ranked Timba Timosoara (2-4) 96-89 on Saturday. Rickey Huckaby scored 23 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. Timba Timosoara moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with CSU Sibiu. Rovinari lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Timba Timosoara will face higher ranked U-Mobitelco (#5) in Cluj in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 6: CSM Bucuresti won against Giurgiu on the opponent's court 80-73. Craiova managed to outperform CSU Sibiu in a home game 84-70. Pitesti recorded a loss to Timisoara on the road 82-76.


Farul Const. - Targu Mures 58-60

Bottom-ranked Farul Const. (0-7) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked CSM Bucuresti and 7th ranked Giurgiu had identical 3-2 record. But Giurgiu was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Bucuresti 80-73 on Saturday night. The guests trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 7 points. CSM Bucuresti made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. Giurgiu was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Very predictable result when second ranked Craiova (5-1) defeated at home 12th ranked CSU Sibiu (2-4) 84-70 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Craiova. CSU Sibiu was better in second period 17-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Craiova dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to CSU Sibiu's 24 and made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Serbian guard Rade Dzambic (188-80, college: NYIT, agency: TSS Management) scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American guard LeVar Seals (195-82, college: De Paul) chipped in 22 points during the contest. Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Pitesti (3-4) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Timisoara (4-2) 82-76 on Thursday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Pitesti was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Timisoara made 28-of-36 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Pitesti was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. Serbian-German forward Robert Sarovic (205-78) scored 18 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Dominique Archie (200-87, college: S.Carolina) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American-New Zealand forward Marcel Jones (203-85, college: Oregon St.) with 20 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Damien Kinloch (203-80, college: Tenn Tech) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Five Timisoara and four Pitesti players scored in double figures. Timisoara moved-up to fifth place, which they share with U.Mobitel.CN and CSM Bucuresti. Loser Pitesti keeps the eleventh position with four games lost. Timisoara will face CS Dinamo Bucuresti (#15) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pitesti will play against Ploiesti (#8).
