There was a change at the Division A leadership position after last games. Round 11 most important game was a defeat of league's leader ICIM Arad (10-1). They were defeated by second ranked Satu Mare (10-1) 81-75 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of ICIM Arad. It was a key game for the top position in the league. ICIM Arad was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 23-13 charge of Satu Mare, which allowed them to win the game. Satu Mare outrebounded ICIM Arad 43-28 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for international guard Annemarie Parau (170-84) who led her team to a victory scoring 23 points and 6 assists. American power forward Shanika Freeman (186-83, college: Jacksonville St.) helped adding 22 points and 8 rebounds. American forward Chrissy Givens (180-85, college: Middle Tenn.St.) responded with 31 points and 6 rebounds. Satu Mare have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with defeated ICIM Arad. ICIM Arad will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Satu Mare will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Timisoara at home.
Division A top team - ICIM Arad (10-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifteenth ranked Oradea (0-10) 78-48. It was a quality performance for American forward Carla Bartee (182-85, college: Mississippi) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 16 rebounds. Chrissy Givens accounted for 11 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Forward Alexandra Vlaicu (178-91) came up with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for Oradea in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. ICIM Arad have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-1 record, which they share with Satu Mare. Oradea at the other side still closes the standings with ten games lost. ICIM Arad will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Oradea will play at home against CSM Targoviste (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.

The best player for the winners was Chrissy Givens who scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. ICIM Arad's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gabriela Toma produced 6 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for ICIM Arad. They maintain first place with 10-1 record, which they share with Satu Mare. Craiova lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with seven games lost. ICIM Arad will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Craiova will play against Cluj Napoca (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Timisoara supposed to be also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked CSM Targoviste (8-1) played at the court of 5th ranked Timisoara (7-3). CSM Targoviste smashed Timisoara 78-50. Milka Bjelica orchestrated the victory by scoring 9 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending champion moved-up to third place. Timisoara at the other side keeps the fifth position with three games lost. CSM Targoviste's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Oradea (#15) in Oradea which should be another easy win for them. Timisoara will play on the road against the league's leader Satu Mare (#1).

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 11: Sp.Studentesc destroyed Olimpia on the opponent's court 87-44. Rapid was outscored by Alba Iulia in a home game 44-93. Cluj Napoca was rolled over Alexandria on the road 89-47. Sf.Gheorghe crushed Targu Mures on its own court 68-35. Craiova beat Brasov in Craiova 55-47. Olimpia was destroyed by Alba Iulia at home 42-95. Cluj Napoca managed to outperform Olimpia on the opponent's court 53-48.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 30 points and 4 assists by Brandie Hoskins of Sp.Studentesc.

Olimpia - Sp.Studentesc 44-87

Very expected game in Bucuresti where 14th ranked Olimpia (1-10) was crushed by tenth ranked Sp.Studentesc (4-6) 87-44. The game without a history. Sp.Studentesc led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Olimpia to just 5 points in fourth quarter and to 12 points in second half. Sp.Studentesc dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Olimpia's 20. Sp.Studentesc forced 27 Olimpia turnovers and outrebounded them 37-14 including a 20-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Brandie Hoskins (175-85) orchestrated the victory by scoring 30 points and 4 assists. Bosnian center Emina Demirovic (186-85) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. Coach Predrag Vasic's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. point guard Alexandra Dumitrache (170-94) answered with 22 points and 4 steals and center Mihaela Chelariu (188-92) added 6 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Olimpia. The victory was the third consecutive win for Sp.Studentesc. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Targu Mures. Olimpia lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the fourteenth position with ten games lost. Sp.Studentesc's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Bucuresti Rapid.

There was a change at the Division A leadership position after last games. Round 11 most important game was a defeat of league's leader ICIM Arad (10-1). They were defeated by second ranked Satu Mare (10-1) 81-75 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of ICIM Arad. It was a key game for the top position in the league. ICIM Arad was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 23-13 charge of Satu Mare, which allowed them to win the game. Satu Mare outrebounded ICIM Arad 43-28 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for international guard Annemarie Parau (170-84) who led her team to a victory scoring 23 points and 6 assists. American power forward Shanika Freeman (186-83, college: Jacksonville St.) helped adding 22 points and 8 rebounds. American forward Chrissy Givens (180-85, college: Middle Tenn.St.) responded with 31 points and 6 rebounds and the former international swingman Monika Boriga (176-74) scored 11 points and 5 assists. Satu Mare have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with defeated ICIM Arad. ICIM Arad will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Satu Mare will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Timisoara at home.

Division A top team - ICIM Arad (10-1) had no problems winning another game on Thursday. This time they crushed twelfth ranked Craiova (4-7) 89-33. The game without a history. ICIM Arad led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Craiova to just 6 points in fourth quarter and to 14 points in second half. ICIM Arad held Craiova to an opponent 23.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 47.4 percent accuracy of the winners. ICIM Arad forced 22 Craiova turnovers and outrebounded them 42-21 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Chrissy Givens (180-85, college: Middle Tenn.St.) who scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Jennifer Risper (175-87, college: Vanderbilt) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists. Four ICIM Arad players scored in double figures. ICIM Arad's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international center Gabriela Toma (192-74) produced 6 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian center Zorica Mitov (189-87) added 8 points respectively for the guests. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for ICIM Arad. They maintain first place with 10-1 record, which they share with Satu Mare. Craiova lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with seven games lost. ICIM Arad will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Craiova will play against Cluj Napoca (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
