Satu Mare clinched the second win in EuroCup season. They toppled visiting SISU for 2-3 record in Group A. Utahya Drye (185-F-88, college: Virginia Tech) came up with 20 points, 6 boards and 6 assists for the hosts. Satu Mare stormed into the game. They unleashed 28 points in the first quarter to take a 14-point lead. SISU slowed the hosts down in the second quarter. The Danish team cut the deficit at 8-point mark at the interval 42:34. SISU got even closer in the third quarter. The visitors trailed by 7 points at the final intermission 62:55. But Satu Mare quickly boosted the gap to double figures and raced to the victory at the end. Italee Lucas (172-G-89, college: N.Carolina) notched 18 points to pace the hosts. Dara Kovacevic (197-C-83) added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the win. Marie Malone (191-C-89, college: Hofstra) answered with 21 points and 9 rebounds for SISU. Camilla Blands (180-G-85, college: Alabama) had 16 points and 11 boards in the loss.

Istanbul Universitesi SK added 26-year old Romanian Gabriela Marginean (182-F-87, college: Drexel) for the next season.
The season 2012 she started at CSM Targoviste in Romanian Liga Nationala. In 36 games she recorded 14.1ppg, 3.2rpg, 1.8apg and 1.1spg this season. Istanbul Universitesi SK added 26-year old Romanian Gabriela Marginean (182-F-87, college: Drexel) for the next season. The season 2012 she started at CSM Targoviste in Romanian Liga Nationala. In 36 games she recorded 14.1ppg, 3.2rpg, 1.8apg and 1.1spg this season. Marginean also played 14 games in Euroleague where she averaged impressive 17.3ppg, 3.1rpg, 1.2apg and 1.9spg. A very spectacular season in her career as she was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Euroleague Honorable Mention. The earlier season she played at Arras Pays d'Artois Basket Feminin (LFB) in French league. In 26 games she averaged 12.3ppg, 3.6rpg and 1.1apg. She helped them to win the cup. Marginean also played 10 games in Eurocup where she averaged remarkable 16.9ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.0spg. The previous (10-11) season she played at Panathinaikos (A1) in Greek league. In 26 games she was second best scorer with great 17.0ppg and had 7.3rpg, 1.5apg and 2.2spg that season. She contributed to her team making it to the semifinals. Great season indeed as she was selected Eurobasket.com All-Greek League Bosman Player of the Year and voted to 1st Team and voted to All-Bosmans Team. Marginean attended Drexel University until 2010 and it will be her third season in pro basketball. She was voted CAA Player of the Year back in 2009 at her college time.
