The 26-year old player had a double-double of 26 points and 14 rebounds, while her team crushed Brasov (#4, 15-13) with 19-point margin 92-73. Galati maintains the 5th position in Romanian Liga Nationala. Galati is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. But it was their 15th lost game this season out of 28 games. In the team's last game Nelson had a remarkable 61.1% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for her as usually she does not deliver so high stats. Kerah Nelson averages this season 6.7ppg.
The second best player in last round's games was 25-year old American Morgan Stroman (185-PF-91) of Univ Goldis ICIM Arad. Stroman had a very good evening with a double-double of 18 points and 16 rebounds. Of course she led ICIM Arad to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Alexandria (#8, 11-13) 79-50. ICIM Arad's 7th position in the standings has not changed. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But 13-11 record is not bad and everything may still change. Stroman is a newcomer at ICIM Arad, but is already one of team's top players.
Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Chastity Reed (185-F-89) of Satu Mare (#6). Reed showcased her all-around game by recording 20 points, six rebounds and six assists in the last round. Despite Reed's great performance Satu Mare lost 62-64 to the higher-ranked Cluj Napoca (#2, 20-8). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Satu Mare not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 18 games, recording just ten victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Reed could try to bring Satu Mare's a little bit higher in the standings. Reed has individually a great season in Romania. After 22 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.5ppg (7th best).
Other top performing players last week: 4. Morgan Jennings (173-G-89) of Iasi - 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists 5. Chay Shegog (196-C-90) of Sf.Gheorghe - 16 points and 6 rebounds 6. Lauren Gregory (185-F-87) of Sirius TgM - 20 points and 5 rebounds
