There was no lack of excitement in the last round games. The round ended with extra overtimes and favorites losing the games.

The most important game in the last round took place in Craiova between second ranked Timisoara (7-3) and ninth ranked Craiova (7-3) on Saturday night. Timisoara was defeated by Craiova in a tough game on the road 76-83. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Timisoara. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Timisoara won third quarter 24-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Craiova forced 21 Timisoara turnovers. Serbian guard Rade Dzambic (188-80, college: NYIT, agency: TSS Management) scored 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Serbian guard Darko Habus (186-82) chipped in 21 points and 4 steals during the contest. At the losing side American forward Dominique Archie (200-87, college: S.Carolina) responded with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Craiova moved-up to second place, which they share with 6 other teams including defeated Timisoara. Craiova is looking forward to face Rovinari (#4) on the road in the next round. Timisoara will have a break next round.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked U-Mobitelco (7-3) against sixth ranked Targu Mures (7-3) on Friday night. Visiting U-Mobitelco was defeated by Targu Mures in Mures 82-72. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of U-Mobitelco. Montenegrin guard Branko Cuic (197-78) notched 18 points and 9 assists to lead the effort and Matija Ceskovic supported him with 19 points and 5 assists. Targu Mures' coach Srecko Sekulovic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 16 points and 6 rebounds by American forward Sean Barnette (198-86, college: Wingate) did not help to save the game for U-Mobitelco. Targu Mures moved-up to second place, which they share with 6 other teams including defeated U-Mobitelco. Targu Mures will play against league's leader Oradea on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. U-Mobitelco will play against the league's second-placed CSM Bucuresti and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Division A top team - Oradea (9-1) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed sixteenth ranked Farul Const. (0-11) in Constanca 101-57. Milos Pesic fired 20 points for the winners. Robin Wallace produced 15 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Oradea have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-1 record. Newly promoted Farul Const. still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Oradea will meet at home Targu Mures (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Farul Const. will have a break next round.
Bottom-ranked CS Dinamo Bucuresti (0-10) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their tenth consecutive match to thirteenth ranked Timba Timosoara (3-7) 100-70. Worth to mention a great performance of Jordan Glynn who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 16 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Timba Timosoara maintains thirteenth position with 3-7 record. CS Dinamo Bucuresti at the other side still closes the standings with ten games lost. Timba Timosoara's next round opponent will be higher ranked CSU Sibiu (#11) on the road and it may be quite challenging game. CS Dinamo Bucuresti will play against Giurgiu (#12) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
CSU Sibiu (4-6) outlasted Gaz Metan (7-4) in overtime by five points 98-93 on Saturday night. The game took place in Medias. But the guests from Sibiu were better at the end. Christopher Lee had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 18 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals to lead the charge for the winners. CSU Sibiu maintains eleventh position with 4-6 record, which they share with Giurgiu. Loser Gaz Metan dropped to the ninth place with four games lost. CSU Sibiu will face Timba Timosoara (#13) in Timisoara in the next round.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 10: Pitesti lost to Giurgiu on the opponent's court 74-78. CSM Bucuresti unfortunately lost to Rovinari in a home game 88-96. Miercurea Ciuc was rolled over Ploiesti on the road 69-95.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 20 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals by Louis Darby of Rovinari.


Giurgiu - Pitesti 78-74

There was a minor upset when 10th ranked Pitesti (5-6) was defeated on the road by twelfth ranked Giurgiu (4-6) 78-74 on Saturday. Pitesti trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 27-19 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 74-78 at the end of the game. American guard Perry Petty (185-88, college: UTPA) scored 19 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Kevin Sims (178-88, college: Tulane) chipped in 17 points during the contest. Petty is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American point guard Donte Gennie (185-83, college: Georgia South, agency: TSS Management) responded with 14 points and Bosnian center Drasko Albijanic (211-86) scored 15 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Giurgiu moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with CSU Sibiu. Loser Pitesti keeps the tenth position with six games lost. Giurgiu will face CS Dinamo Bucuresti (#15) on the road in the next round.

CSM Bucuresti was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Miercurea Ciuc (1-10) was rolled over on the road by seventh ranked Ploiesti (7-3) 95-69 on Friday. The game without a history. Ploiesti led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Miercurea Ciuc's 34. They outrebounded Miercurea Ciuc 28-14 including a 22-9 advantage in defensive rebounds. Ploiesti looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Miercurea Ciuc's players. The former international power forward Virgil Stanescu (208-77, college: S.Alabama, agency: Interperformances) scored 23 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international center Catalin Burlacu (210-77, agency: Court Side) chipped in 11 points and 5 assists during the contest.
