22-year old guard Aleksandar Vlahovic (190-G-90) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Ploiesti and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 12.
He had the game-high 30 points adding three rebounds and six assists for Ploiesti in his team's victory, helping them to crush Craiova (#7, 8-4) with 24-point margin 116-92. Ploiesti is placed at 2nd position in Romanian league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Ploiesti will need more victories to improve their 8-3 record. In the team's last game Vlahovic had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Ploiesti and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Vlahovic has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in assists (6th best: 5.2apg) and averages solid 51.2% FGP and 46.4% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Louis Darby (196-G-84) of Rovinari. He is American guard in his 2nd season at Rovinari. In the last game Darby recorded impressive double-double of 31 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Rovinari lost that game 73-80 to the higher-ranked U.Mobitel.CN (#6, 8-4). This loss caused Rovinari to drop to 9th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 7-5 record is not bad and everything may still change. Darby is well-known at Rovinari and he already established his position as one of the team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.6ppg (#2). His other stats are also decent: 6.4rpg and 3.1apg.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Jevohn Shepherd (196-F-86) of CSM Bucuresti (#4). Shepherd showcased his all-around game by recording 21 points, five rebounds and five assists in the last round. Despite Shepherd's great performance CSM Bucuresti lost 61-75 to #1 ranked Oradea. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing CSM Bucuresti needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 8 victories and 4 lost games. Shepherd has a great season in Romania. After 11 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.3ppg (3rd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. David Steffel (212-C/F-85) of Rovinari - 10 points and 17 rebounds
5. Hristo Nikolov (200-PF-85) of U.Mobitel.CN - 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Catalin Burlacu (210-C-77) of Ploiesti - 16 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Branko Cuic (197-G-78) of Targu Mures - 9 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists
8. William Franklin (183-PG-85) of Oradea - 18 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Aleksandar Mladenovic (207-F/C-84) of Gaz Metan - 17 points and 7 rebounds
10. Liviu Dumitru (203-C-79) of Targu Mures - 15 points and 10 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
