Seventh-ranked U-Mobitelco (8-6) made lots of trouble for first ranked Oradea (13-1) in Cluj on Tuesday. The visitors from Oradea managed to secure only two-point victory 84-82. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 20-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Oradea shot 61.1 percent from the field. Oradea outrebounded U-Mobitelco 32-15 including a 26-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American point guard William Franklin (183-85, college: Bradley) who scored 17 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Serbian forward Milos Pesic (205-84) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Derek Wright (180-86, college: Austin Peay St.) produced 15 points, 9 assists and 4 steals for the hosts. Oradea have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-1 record. U-Mobitelco at the other side keeps the seventh place with six games lost. Ploiesti rolled over Timba Timis. on the road 102-69. Targu Mures defeated CSU Sibiu on its own court 89-83. The best stats of 14th round was 22 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks by Ionut Dragusin of Craiova.
There was a minor upset when 8th ranked Rovinari (7-7) was defeated at home by eleventh ranked Pitesti (7-7) 84-75. They made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game.
