There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in Division A.

Seventh-ranked U-Mobitelco (8-6) made lots of trouble for first ranked Oradea (13-1) in Cluj on Tuesday. The visitors from Oradea managed to secure only two-point victory 84-82. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 20-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Oradea shot 61.1 percent from the field. Oradea outrebounded U-Mobitelco 32-15 including a 26-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American point guard William Franklin (183-85, college: Bradley) who scored 17 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Serbian forward Milos Pesic (205-84) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Derek Wright (180-86, college: Austin Peay St.) produced 15 points, 9 assists and 4 steals for the hosts. Oradea have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-1 record. U-Mobitelco at the other side keeps the seventh place with six games lost. Oradea are looking forward to face Craiova (#5) at home in the next round. U-Mobitelco will play against Pitesti and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked CS Dinamo Bucuresti (0-14) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 101-54 loss to sixth ranked CSM Bucuresti (9-5) in Bucuresti. Canadian forward Jevohn Shepherd (196-86, college: Michigan) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 5 assists. Ivan Bosnjak contributed with 16 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Guard Andrei Badila (190-84) replied with 19 points for CS Dinamo Bucuresti. CS Dinamo Bucuresti's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. CSM Bucuresti maintains sixth position with 9-5 record. CS Dinamo Bucuresti at the other side still closes the standings with 14 games lost. CSM Bucuresti will play against CSU Sibiu (#10) on the road in the next round. CS Dinamo Bucuresti will play against Rovinari (#11) and hopes to get finally their first victory.

Rest of the games of round 14 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Pitesti defeated Rovinari in a road game 84-75. Farul Const. was beaten by Miercurea Ciuc at home 71-87. Timisoara won against Giurgiu on the opponent's court 79-68. Craiova managed to outperform Gaz Metan in a home game 82-68. Ploiesti rolled over Timba Timis. on the road 102-69. Targu Mures defeated CSU Sibiu on its own court 89-83.
The best stats of 14th round was 22 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks by Ionut Dragusin of Craiova.


Rovinari - Pitesti 75-84

There was a minor upset when 8th ranked Rovinari (7-7) was defeated at home by eleventh ranked Pitesti (7-7) 84-75. They made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Strangely Rovinari outrebounded Pitesti 34-22 including 16 on the offensive glass. Croatian guard Pankracije Barac (196-81, agency: Court Side) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Damien Kinloch (203-80, college: Tenn Tech) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Flavius Lapuste (202-78) replied with 15 points and 9 rebounds and Czech power forward David Steffel (212-85) added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Rovinari. Four Pitesti and five Rovinari players scored in double figures. Pitesti moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Rovinari. Rovinari lost fourth consecutive game. Pitesti will play against higher ranked U-Mobitelco (#7) in Cluj in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Rovinari will play on the road against CS Dinamo Bucuresti and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Very expected game when 12th ranked Giurgiu (5-9) was defeated at home by third ranked Timisoara (10-3) 79-68. The game was mostly controlled by Timisoara. Giurgiu was better in third quarter 19-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-24 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Timisoara especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 64.3 percentage. Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Targu Mures (10-4) won against at home 10th ranked CSU Sibiu (7-7) 89-83. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But CSU Sibiu won third quarter 23-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Montenegrin guard Branko Cuic (197-78) orchestrated the victory by scoring 8 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists. Serbian guard Andrija Ciric (199-80, agency: BeoExcell) contributed with 21 points for the winners. American center Christopher Lee (206-84, college: S.Carolina St., agency: Duran International) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and the former international point guard Mihail-Octavian Paul (188-82) added 26 points and 7 assists in the effort for CSU Sibiu. Targu Mures have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 10-4 record, which they share with Craiova. CSU Sibiu at the other side dropped to the eighth place with seven games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Targu Mures will play against Miercurea Ciuc (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. CSU Sibiu will play against CSM Bucuresti (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
