26-year old guard Derek Wright (180-G-86) had a great game in the last round for U.Mobitel.CN and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 19. He had the game-high 24 points adding six rebounds and eight assists for U.Mobitel.CN in his team's victory, helping them to beat Timisoara (13-6) 95-84. U.Mobitel.CN is placed at 4th position in Romanian league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. U.Mobitel.CN will need more victories to improve their 13-6 record. In the team's last game Wright had a remarkable 85.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be U.Mobitel.CN's top player in his first season with the team. Austin Peay State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Wright. Wright is in league's top in points (8th best: 16.3ppg) and averages solid 3.3spg and 58.1% FGP.
Second best performed player last round was Branko Cuic (197-G-78) of league's second-best Targu Mures. He is Montenegrin guard in his first season at Targu Mures. In the last game Cuic recorded impressive double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds. Of course he lead Targu Mures to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Timba Timis. (#13, 5-14) 98-71. Targu Mures' second position in the standings has not changed. His team's 14-5 record is not bad at all. Cuic is a newcomer at Targu Mures and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.
Third place about best performers goes to center Christopher Lee (206-C-84, agency: Duran International) of CSU Sibiu (#10). Lee showcased his all-around game by recording 17 points, fourteen rebounds (!!!) and six assists in the last round. He was a key player of CSU Sibiu, leading his team to a 79-73 win against slightly lower-ranked Pitesti (#11, 8-11). The chances of CSU Sibiu ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 10 games, recording just nine victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Lee could help CSU Sibiu to bring them higher in the standings. Lee has a great season in Romania. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.3rpg (#1 in league).
